1950 FERN AGNES BATTEN Oh, why has happiness so short a day. To her friends, Fern is a happy-go-lucky girl with a friendly and devilish twinkle in her eyes. Her love for music continually takes her to the dance halls, where we hear she is quite an able partner. She possesses a great talent for making Dagwood sandwiches. Fern's future plans include marriage, and her life is sure to be filled with happines? and success. Glee Club, 2, 3; Junior Assembly, 3. NANCY IRLENE BATTYE A lovely girl to meet and know. Although she seems to be one of the quieter members of our class. Nancy is full of fun once you get to know her. She enjoys taking long walks with her girl friends, and her latest record is said to be fourteen miles. Every Saturday night she can be seen at some ball room. An ardent music fan, Nancy enjoys any type of music. Basketball, Volleyball, 2, 3, 4. DOROTHY ALISON BAUMAN Happy am I, from care I'm free! Why aren't they all content like me? Deedee, an affable senior miss, is seldom seen without an impish grin. She is an established musician in our band, and has already proven her- self to be a talented writer. Deedee's ambition, however, is to be a secretary. She hasn't yet decided which school it will be, but a little dickiebird tells us it will be in Boston. Basketball, Volleyball, 3; Band, 2, 3, 4; Dramatic Club, Boulder, Variety Revue, Red and Gray, 4; Glee Club, 2; Alternate Represent- ative, 2; Competitive Plays, 3, 4; Class Play Stage Crew, 4. JOYCE ELAINE BEBICK It is not always the size that determines the quality. One of our blond, diminutive classmates, Joyce has a rather reserved manner and seems somewhat serious — but not when you know her well. Always ready for a good time, she especially enjoys roller skating, and is often seen at Whalom roller skating rink. Efficiency, cooperativeness, and dependability are ever-present qualities with Joyce. Volleyball, 2. GEORGE BERTRAND BERNATCHEZ Pleasure before work. George joined us in our Junior year, coming from St. Bernard's High. He likes sports and can be seen working out in the Y gym almost every day in the week. Of the many friends Bernatch has made, few can say he is the quiet type, though he may seem so at first glance. 16

lie Collider 1950 JOSEPHINE COXCETTA ANZALOXE A merry heart is like good medicine. Josie is one of the sweet and quiet mannered girls in the senior class. Her cute smile and soft pleasing voice will be remembered by many. She always has a cheery Hi I and is noted to be considerate and under- standing of others. Josie possesses heart warmina simplicity. She shows a weakness for anything chocolate and enjoys reading and knitting at any time. 'olleyball. 4. JOSEPHINE CONCETTA ANZALONE Smiles dra'jj smiles. Josie hails from New York and joined us in our senior year. She has a ready smile and a wink for everyone, and is full of fun and energ '. Fhe is an avid classical and semi-classical music fan and collects records of this type. She also collects stamps. Josie would like very much to become a nurse. ROBERT FRANCIS . TKINSON .4 man that is persistent is uncom parable and never ziill he fail. ■'. cky — the fellow who has the shculders to fi'l those sharp sweaters he sports, did a consistently tine job as center en the football squad this ear. One of our biggest players on the football team. CharUe is also one of our very best He loves to eat. which probably accounts for his physical stamina. It has been rumored that Charlie likes to do a great deal of hunting and fishing, and it seems that he always has sood luck. He can be found wearing the latest in men's apparel at all times. Charlie plans to further his education after graduation. Basketball, 2; Football, 2, 3, 4; Junior-Senior Relav. 3. 4: Track. 2, 3, 4. JE. N WHITNEY B. RNES Wherever she goes she makes life happier. Jean is a tall, willowy brunette with sincere gray eyes. Cheerfulness is indeed one of her strong points, as many of her friends will tell you. She wields knitting needles expertly and sometimes knits behind her desk during class. Perhaps this accounts for the fact that she has made so many garments in so short a time. Dancing, sports, and men are her main interests. Jean plans to attend Fitchburg Teachers College next fall. 1950 RAYMOND BERUBE He is quiet and seldom heard. Ray, or Cheeta, as he is known to most of us, is a swell fellow and a great athlete. He was particularly adept in calling plays this year tor our successful football team. As a pitcher on our baseball team, he did some fine chucking. Cheeta seems to make quite a hit with the girls, and is known as the Girl's Gift from Hollywood. Baseball, 3; Football, 2, 3, 4. BARBARA ANN BETTS Ambition is the first step toivard success. A chic lass, full of fun and with a ready smile. Barbie is also an earnest student. She loves dancing and driving, and is extremely proud of a recently acquired driver's license. Barbie plans to attend Forsythe Dental School to become a dental hygienist. She has already worked in a dentist's office; therefore, experience is the least of her worries. Debating Club, 1; Glee Club, 1, 2; Home Room Representative, 1, 3; Class Ring Committee, Junior Prom, Junior-Senior Xmas Party, 3; Boulder, 4; Red and Gray, 3, 4. RICHARD ARNOLD BISBEE A generous action is his own reward. Dick is a small but husky senior who hails from Ashburnham. A member of the vocational course, he has studied machine training through- out his four years in high school. In the future Dick expects to follow his fathers footsteps in the agricultural field, for he enjoys this type of work immensely. WANDA MAE BLACKWELL A laugh is worth a hundred groans in any market. A zealous rooter for F. H. S., Wanda has a smile for everyone. A very smooth dancer and a neat dresser, she radiates fun and good cheer wherever she goes. She has never missed a football or basketball game. Her determined spirit will, without a doubt, fulfill her plans for the future. Basketball, Volleyball, 2; Glee Club, 2; Thanksgiving Dance, 4; Alternate Representative, 4. KENNETH HERBERT BLOOD The most of a man'.s future is in his own hands. Kenny has a very pleasing personality. An enthusiast of all sports, especially baseball and football. Ken was a consistent spark on the B squad his Sophomore year. He can usually be seen walking down the corridors with Phyl. Kenny's plans for the future are indefinite, but he will undoubtedly be successful in whatever field he chooses.
