The Boulder 1948 MARIE KATHERINE CRAVEDI Her voice ivas ever sweet and low. Marie soft-spoken and quiet of manner, is a sincere friend to all who know her. Her dark, wavy hair and beautiful hand-knit sweaters have drawn many an envious glance from the girls. Marie has a very sweet singing voice to match her personality, and has an appreciation of classical music. She plans to go into nursing after graduation. Volleyball 1, 2, Dramatic Club 1, 2, 3, Field Hockey 2, Glee Club 1, 2 BARBARA WINIFRED CROCKFORD She is little, she is wise, She's a terror for her size. Pudgy is peppy, dark-eyed, and dark-haired. She talks in- cessantly. She loves ski pants and dungarees, excels in dancing, which is her favorite pastime. She can usually be seen running — not walking — down the corridor. Barb is popular with fellows and girls alike. Her plans for the future are indefinite. Band 2, 3, 4, Orchestra 2 RICHARD FRANCIS CROHAN His limbs were cut in tnanly mold. For hardy sports, in contest bold. Dick is a husky lad who originally came from New York. He is quite popular with his classmates and always will be re- membered by his fine football playing. His main interests seem to be sports for he is also a fine skier and swimmer. He is at- tracted to the opposite sex and vice versa. Football 2, 3, 4, Junior-Senior Reception Committee 3 GILBERT DAVIS CURRIER Worry never bothered him. Gil is perhaps the most air-minded senior we have. He holds a pilot's license and is an active member in the flying club. Photo- graphy is another one of his interests. Gil is thinking about under- taking as a profession although he doesn't say very much about it. Home Room Representative 2, Flying Club 3, Camera Club 4 WILLIAM JOSEPH DARCY He hath sailed the briny deep. Dai'ce is one of r.u: returned G. l.'s wh;) joined our class after two and one half years of service with the Navy in the Pacific theater of war. He was a member of the cl.iss of 1945 prior to enlistment. He was a member of both the football and basketball teams in his sophomore year. MAKGARI'T ANNI . CONDON is more wise lo he a listener, I ban to say too much. Pe ;gy — a pretty blonde, blue-eyed majorette with a friendly personality. She has made many friends while working as a soda- jerk at Liggett's after school. Peg loves to dance and can usually be seen on Saturdays at T. A. C. She tells us that her favorite pastime is sleeping until noon. Majorette 3, 4 IRENE THERESA CONLON Faithfulness and sincerity are the highest qualities. Irene, one of our more quiet classmates, is known to all her friends for her pretty hands. When it comes to art, you will find Irene at the head of the class. She is one of the designers of our school flag. Although she has no definite plans for the future, Irene would like very much to go to art school, and to enter the field of commercial art. Dramatic Club, Orchestra 1, 2, Band 1, 2, 3, 4, Thanksgiving Dance Committee, Glee Club 4, Junior-Senior Christmas Party 3 NANCY COPELAND Some like work, some like play — like both. Nancy, better known by her friends as Nan, is a small doll- like beauty. She always has a cheery hello for everyone and her sense of humor is very keen. Her acting ability has been out- standing in high school. She is also clever at the piano and enjoys classical music. Someday Nan hopes to be an interior decorator. She has a good start as her very presence is an at;ractive addition to any room or gathering. Dramatic Qub 1, 2, 3, 4, One Act Plays 2, 3, 4, Radio Club, Junior-Senior Reception Committee 3, Class Play, Class Book Committee, Gold F, Assembly Committee 4 CELIA AGNES COTE Thought is deeper than all speed. Sis is a quiet girl, with the dignity proper to a senior. Her secret ambition, an unusual one for a girl, is to become a lawyer. Celia spends much of her leisure time reading and knitting. We predict a promising future for this industrious young lady. Debating Club 1, 2, Tennis, Glee Club 2, Basketball 2, 3, 4, Dramatic Club 2, 4, Home Room Representative 3, Round Table, Gold F 4 ARMAND WILLIAM COURTEMANCHE The blush is beautiful but it is sometimes inconvenient. Bill is one of the quiet boys of our class. Hailing from South Fitchburg, he may be seen traveling on the Leominster bus. Danc- ing is one of his favorite pastimes, and he does a very smooth waltz. We also hear that he enjoys speaking Spanish. His thought- ful manner has hidden his future plans but keep your eyes on him, we predict something great. Dramatic Club 1, 2 24

He is in the wootl- working course. He has no idea of wh at he will do after leaving school but may prove to be the one with the solution for the housing shortage. FRANCIS NORMAN DAUPHINAIS My chief pleasure lies in my work. Duffy is another one of the fellows from West Fitchburg. He really enjoys his work whatever it may be. Of a rather quiet nature, he is usually very well dressed. Hunting, fishing, and hockey are of great interest to Duffy. ELEANOR MAE DEGEN My, how she can talk. Gifted with lovely brown eyes, cheerfulness, and common sense, Ellie is as true a friend as anyone might want to have. One of her favorite activities is horseback riding. She finds it difficult to resist buying attractive jewelry. Ellie's interests, after gradur.tion, are directed toward the nursing profession. Diz has a very pleasing personality and her wittiness makes her well liked by all whom she meets. Although she appears to be quiet she makes a very sincere friend. She loves to roller skate and IS quite a fourteen-step art'st on them. Her future plans are not definite but we hear that she would like to be a hairdresser. Basketball 1, 2, Dramatic Club 2, 3 NANCY MARY DERDERIAN Without a little laughter there is no joy. Nancy is a very conscientious student who has earned excellent grades from the very beginning. She has a very agreeable and lovable nature. Though she may seem a wee bit shy to most people, Nancy really is an active young , lady, a loyal and true friend.
