The Boulder 1948 PAULINH FRANCl'S CASEY Light-hearled and conleni, I wander through the world. Pauline is a dark-eyed lass known to her many friends as Dully. Her smile and personality add a great deal to the attractive- ness of our class. Although Pauline has many hobbies, her greatest ambition is to design clothes. She has beep rather quiet about her plans for the future. MARY ANNE CASTELLI Little friends always prove great friends. That whizzing object which picks up speed on Water Street, gains more momentum on Mam, becomes invisible on Prichard, and blasts through the east entrance is Mary. She is never still. We have heard that school is only a side-line to her and she attends from force of habit. She loves dancing and the Cumings is a favorite with her. IRENE EXILDA CHALIFOUX chatter, chatter as I go. Irene, short but lively, has a devilish twinkle in her eyes. All her friends vouch for her wonderful sense of humor. Irene always looks as though she just stepped out of a fashion magazine. Her favorite pastimes are dancing and eating. Irene has no definite plans for the future as yet. Basketball, Volleyball 1, 2, 3, 4, Class Color and Flower Committee, Freshmen Councilor, Freshman and Sophomore Committee JEAN BARBARA CHALMERS Happy as the day is long. Jean, an attractive, well-liked girl from Westminster, can always be seen dashing from class to class. She is a lover of horses and from what we can gather, an excellent rider. After school she works at the telephone office in her home town. Jean finds time also for school work as her honor marks indicate. RICHARD DONELSON CHANDLER Of the great outdoors, he knows much. Tall and sandy-haired, shy until you know him. Chick regards girls with an air of indifference. Being what we would call a typical outdoor boy, he engages in every sport from basketball to fishing. He has a passion for motorcycles, and can be seen any time of day whizzing precariously around street corners. Chick's plans for the future are incomplete. 22

MAKGARI'T ANNI . CONDON is more wise lo he a listener, I ban to say too much. Pe ;gy — a pretty blonde, blue-eyed majorette with a friendly personality. She has made many friends while working as a soda- jerk at Liggett's after school. Peg loves to dance and can usually be seen on Saturdays at T. A. C. She tells us that her favorite pastime is sleeping until noon. Majorette 3, 4 IRENE THERESA CONLON Faithfulness and sincerity are the highest qualities. Irene, one of our more quiet classmates, is known to all her friends for her pretty hands. When it comes to art, you will find Irene at the head of the class. She is one of the designers of our school flag. Although she has no definite plans for the future, Irene would like very much to go to art school, and to enter the field of commercial art. Dramatic Club, Orchestra 1, 2, Band 1, 2, 3, 4, Thanksgiving Dance Committee, Glee Club 4, Junior-Senior Christmas Party 3 NANCY COPELAND Some like work, some like play — like both. Nancy, better known by her friends as Nan, is a small doll- like beauty. She always has a cheery hello for everyone and her sense of humor is very keen. Her acting ability has been out- standing in high school. She is also clever at the piano and enjoys classical music. Someday Nan hopes to be an interior decorator. She has a good start as her very presence is an at;ractive addition to any room or gathering. Dramatic Qub 1, 2, 3, 4, One Act Plays 2, 3, 4, Radio Club, Junior-Senior Reception Committee 3, Class Play, Class Book Committee, Gold F, Assembly Committee 4 CELIA AGNES COTE Thought is deeper than all speed. Sis is a quiet girl, with the dignity proper to a senior. Her secret ambition, an unusual one for a girl, is to become a lawyer. Celia spends much of her leisure time reading and knitting. We predict a promising future for this industrious young lady. Debating Club 1, 2, Tennis, Glee Club 2, Basketball 2, 3, 4, Dramatic Club 2, 4, Home Room Representative 3, Round Table, Gold F 4 ARMAND WILLIAM COURTEMANCHE The blush is beautiful but it is sometimes inconvenient. Bill is one of the quiet boys of our class. Hailing from South Fitchburg, he may be seen traveling on the Leominster bus. Danc- ing is one of his favorite pastimes, and he does a very smooth waltz. We also hear that he enjoys speaking Spanish. His thought- ful manner has hidden his future plans but keep your eyes on him, we predict something great. Dramatic Club 1, 2 24
