VIRGINIA KDITH ANDRIiASSON Tall, straight, and slender. Virginia is that tall pretty lass with a contagious smile. She is friendly and very popular with everyone. Am;)ng her favorite- pastimes are horseback riding, dancing, and moving pictures. Vir- ginia is one class member who has announced her engacjement. The best of luck, Virginia! Junior Picnic Committee ROBERT THOMAS ARCHIBALD A man must devote some of his time to other things than study. Bob or Arch, as he is called by his friends, is one of our better tennis players. He is a good student and Physics is one of his best subjects. While quiet and somewhat serious he has served on many of the social committees and in these capacities revealed another side which has endeared him to those with whom he worked. His mind is not entirely on his studies however as his wavy hair has captivated the heart of many young ladies. In this respect we may add that Bob needs no compass to find one of our neighboring towns. Tennis 3, 4, Class Book Committee BEVERLY PRISCILLA ASHE Thou art small, hut thou shalt grow. Though Bev is one of the smallest members of our class, she gets around faster than most of us, especially in crowds. She is full of fun and mischief and enjoys all sports. An active member of the Scouts, she looks forward to the summer camping trips. Her future plans are to be a telephone operator. Glee Club JEANNETTE THERESA AUBUCHON Laughing and gay and full of fun. Jeannette is one of the outstanding members of the Glee Club and has a beautiful soprano voice. She enjoys all kinds of sports and attends all our games. She has several hobbies, chief of which is collecting pictures of Hollywood stars, and going to the movies. We are told she plans to follow in the steps of Florence Nightin- gale. Volleyball 3, Basketball 3, 4, Dramatic Club, Glee Club 1, 2, 3, 4, Gold F DOROTHY ANN BAHO A lassie dark with raven hair. Dot's deep brown eyes reveal that she is one of those girls who are full of mischief and glee, a happy-go-lucky person. She has a merry, penetrating laugh. In sports she particularly likes to play basketball and she lives for roller skating. Dot plans to be a telephone operator. 14

The Boulder 1948 RICHARD WALTER AHLIN, JR. All great men come jrom the country. Jiggs is the tall, casual boy we see strolling through the corridors in his moccasins, who served as treasurer of our class during the junior year. He has a talent for singing and dancing, and is a born comedian. These talents do not exceed his dramatic ability, however. Jiggs is always smiling, even after a hard night of fighting fires in the wilds of Westminster. His pet peeve is long skirts. Jigg s plans for the future are not yet complete. Football 2, 3, Junior-Senior Reception Committee, Christmas Party, Class Treasurer 3, Dramatic Club, Band, Orchestra 2, 3, 4, Class Play, Senior Dues Committee 4 JOHN JAMES ALARIO A quiet mannered lad with mischiej in his eye. Johnny is the bashful type, being particularly shy with the opposite sex. Although his outside interests are many, he still manages to keep up with his studies. John can always be seen busily working at the meat counter in Brockelman's. Although he doesn't participate in sports, he is an enthusiastic fan. Band 1, 2, 3 JANE EVA ALBERT Her good nature is proper soil upon which virtue grows. Red hair and sparkling eyes — that identifies Janie. She is one of our illustrious part-timers and divides her time between the Red Gray and the Boulder. Wherever she goes there are one or two shadows accompanying her. Jane is always ready for a good time, and although she does not possess a tremendous appetite, she has a fondness for two lunch periods. HALSEY LEONARD ALLEN, III And still the wonder grew, That one small head could carry all he knew. Halsey is perhaps our most brilliant scholar since he has been on the special and high honor rolls throughout his school career. He is a back stage member of the Dramatic Club, a member of the Red Gray Board, the editor of the 1948 Boulder, a member of the student council, and of our victorious relay team. He has served on various dance committees. The sports which he enjoys are skiing and hunting. Most of his weekends and vacations are spent in Sterling at his uncle's farm and from this he draws his life ambition to be a soil chemist. He is planning to enter Cornell University after graduation. Red Gray 2, 3, 4, Junior-Senior Reception Committee 3, Relay, Dramatic Club 3, 4, Student Council, Round Table, Class Book Committee, Gold F 4 JOHN JOSEPH ALLEN Let each wan pass his days in that wherein his skill is greatest. Jack is one of the ardent auto-mechanics and has a car of his own. His love for things mechanical has shown itself by his selec- tion of the 'Vocational Coiirsi .iiul in devoting all his spare time to his own car and to those ot others who are less gifted in the art of keeping the wheels turning. RONALD BALABAN Born and bred in Brooklyn — proud of il luo. Balli, coming from Brooklyn, joined us in our junior year. He played football and has been a member of the track team, do- ing rather well in both sports. He is a nice dancer and enjoyed dancing at lunch. He has the quality of making friends and keep- ing them. May he always remain that way. Junior-Senior Reception Committee 3, Football, Track, Relay 3, 4 ANNA BALDUCCI A bonnie wee lassie. Anna is one of the shortest girls in the senior class but makes up for it with her personality. She is very proud of her long, brown hair. We wonder how she manages it. She can usually be seen rushing to and fro from the school library, as she is one of our part-tfmers working for Miss Sherwin. She plans a business career. Basketball 2, 3, Volleyball 3 NATHALIE JOANNE BARHOLM Mild mannered in all she does. Nathalie is studious and thoughtful, well-liked by all who know her. Although she is generally quiet, Nathalie can hold her own in any bit of activity. Her devoted friend. Dot, is nearly al- ways seen with her. Youth Library Committee 3, Gold F CONSTANCE NANCY BARONE A merry amiable little lass. Connie is cheerful, happy-go-lucky, has a friendly smile for everyone and adds gaiety wherever she goes. One of our bus pupils, she is one of those lucky people who are never marked tardy. She spends most of her time helping her father in Barone's Pharmacy in the eastern section of the city. Dramatic Club 1, 2, Basketball 1, 2, 3 EVERETT ELLON BARROWS, JR. Young fellows will be young fellows. Everett has blonde wavy hair. He is called Blondie by many of his female friends. He has a likeness for the opposite sex and vice versa. Although he doesn't take part in many of our school activities, we know his outside interests are many. He is always neatly groomed and well turned out without resorting to extreme styles.
