1942 BOULDER Arthur Edson Codding An industrious lad in every way, Arthur is tall and quiet. He is very ambitious and studious. He col- lects stamps, hunts, travels, and Ghoot.s. He wants a Civil Service job and plans to go to Washington, D. C, after graduation. John Edmond Cook The innocent are Qay. Dimples is the nickname Johnny rece ived from our well known dis- ciplinarian. Johnny was our football team manager. He has worked at the Fennia Market and plans to continue being a grocery clerk. Donald Ralph Coughlin Mischief dances in his eyes. Donald is one of our best ballroom dancers. After school he works in one of Fitchburg's woolen industries. After high school he plans to become a dye boss. Glee Club. Norman Howard Crawford Reas'ning at every step he treads. Bud is a freckle faced lad, friendly, and direct. He likes a good ar- gument in which he can take an active part. His interests center mainly about baseball and aviation. He would like to be a professional base- ball player but our own army air corps or the R.A.F. would suit him as well. Football, Baseball, Baisketball, Junior Senior Relay, Intra- mural Basketball, Senior Class Prophecy, Bowling. George William Crockford Greatness consists of goodness. Rated as the smallest and no doubt the most active member of those his size, George spends some of his school time working part time for Mr. Dufour and Miss Gifford. His spare time is spent collecting blot- ters or chasing up some football game or the like. Junior Prom Com- mittee, Councillor. Phyllis Averill Congram Good nature is a special charm That wins a host of friends. Phyl is well known for her merry smile and charming ways. She is interested mostly in outdoor sports. Before graduation she exchanged her hope of a diploma for the role of a housewife. Clementine Mary Contessa She that was ever fair and never proud Had tongue at will and yet was never loud. Don't be surprised if Clem asks you for a snapshot, for photography is her hobby. She likes to dance and roller skate. If not successful as a .stenographer, she wants to be an aviatnx. Ping Pong, Basketball, Volleyball. Florence Mary Cormier So wonderous sweet and fair. Florence is a quiet person who works part-time at Crocker Field. She has the odd and interesting hobby of collecting recipes for cooking. Flo says she wants to become a secretary. Volleyball, Basketball. Anita Louise Cote Her character is sweet as she is graceful. Anita should make an efficient bookkeeper or a typist in a movie producer's office. She has a fine collection of pictures of movie stars. She enjoys roller skating. Margaret Ruby Courcelle She'll scatter sunshine ivherever she may go. Ruddy appears quiet until one knows her, then she is warm and friendly. An earnest Girl Scout she has reached the post of assistant leader and a curved bar award. Some of her spare time she gives to her post card collection. 1942 Alfred John Ccmale His interest extends i n many directions. Alfred is one of our more loquacious students. His cheery grin and witty remarks have brightened our class rooms. Such sports as basket- ball, footrball, skating, and ping pong attract him. The navy will have another recruit after June unless Alfred becomes a metalsmith. Bertrand Caron ( is often the part of wise men to be silent. Bertrand though one of our shy and quiet students is humorous and likes to tease people. His oral talks in the classroom have been unique. He likes skating and football but stays home a good deal. He works at a grocery store and expects to continue so doing. Relay Team, Glee Club. Frederick William Carrington Magnetism in his cheerfulness. Fred is a collector of autographs of His Majesty's seamen. He plans to do a little traveling after school and there are hints of England being on his list. Bowling Team. Robert Francis Caulmare The pupil of impulse. Bob is one of our South Fitchburg boys. He is interested in stamp collecting and hunting. He also belongs to a bowling team. Bob plans to attend the Massachusetts School of Pharmacy and then become a druggist. Baseball, Councillor, Junior Prom Committee. Edward Clough His smile like sunshine darts into many a sunless heart. Eddie is a small, quiet person who works hard for his good marks. After school he works .at a butter and egg store on Main Street. Ed would like to go to Stanford University way out in California; if he doesn't go there. Brown will be his goal. Baseball, Basketball, Thanks- giving Dance Committee, Councillor. Lucille Florence Caron A good heart is worth gold. Lucille is an all around French girl. She likes most outdoor sports, and dancing, but is especially keen on roller skating. She sews well and makes most of her own clothes. She plans to go to the Peacock Academy in Worcester and become a hairdresser. Basketball, Volley- ball, French Club. Charlotte Adelaide Cate A frame of adamant, a soul of fire No dangers fright her, and no labour's tire. Charl has blue eyes and freckles that add to her appearance. Charl is a member of the Girl Scouts. She served on the Red and Gray board as chairra-an of the joke committee. After graduation Charlotte will become a member of the business world. Basketball, Volleyball, Dramatic Club, French Club, Band, Orchestra, Class Ring Committee, Junior Prom Committee, Red and Gray, Open Meeting, Marshal. Grace Ann Celona The mildest manners and the gentlest heart. Grace is a quiet person with a pleasant disposition, but a rather retiring nature. Her hobby is collecting buttons. Grace plans to enter the Banford Academy of Hairdressing after graduation. Volleyball, Deck Tennis, Dramatic Club. Dorothy Geraldine Christiansen Charm strikes the sight and merit wins the soul. Dottie has bluish-grey eyes and honey colored hair. She swims, dances, sings, and cooks. Dot plans to attend a business school after graduation to prepare for work as a stenograoher. Her big ambition is to travel the United States from shore to shore. Badminton, Table 1 ennis. Mary Ciarlone She's daring, she's darling, she's lovely. Mary is an accomplished pianist and has won a prize for her music. She collects stamps during her spare time. Mary would become either a hairdresser or a piano teacher. Basketball, Glee Club, Dramatic Club.

BOULDER Page 16 1942 John Norman Cunningham Be merry if you are wise. Johnnie is a very good-natured fellow, with a friendly way with everybody. He is definitely sportsminded, as he plays football, basket- ball, and hockey. His ambition is to become a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Arthur Robert Gushing Oh who can forget the mild light of his smile. Arthur was our able and enthusiastic cheerleader. He is interested in Denishawn dancing. He belongs to the Roilstone Young Men's Club and the Christian Endeavor. He wants to be a Denishawn dancer and a war correspondent. Glee Club, Dramatic Club, Band, Senior Cheer Leader, Open Meeting. Thomas Angslo Dateo There is a laughing devil in his sneer. Cheerful, gay, and loud describe Tommy. He plays football, base- ball, and basketball for the Sons of Italy. After school hours, he flashes a flashlight in one of Fitchburg's well known theaters. Foot- ball, Track, Touch Football. Robert Joseph Dauphinais Real loyalty is hard to find. Dauph is just a little less than pleasingly plump but he uses it to a good advantage on the gridiron, ironing out some of those opposing guards and tackles. He is a snappy dresser around school and 'a snappy marcher in the St. Joseph Cadets with whom he received □ medal when they won the International Championship. Football, Glee Club. Peter Dedeian Faithful and likable is he. Fete, although unassuming, manage. to do a great deal. He works far the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. He rides around constantly in his Chevrolet. His one ambition is to own and edit a newsp aper. Enid Theresa Cummings A girl so sweet and fair With a happy smile and pleasant air. Micky enjoys a good time and her merry laugh rings out easily. She has an interesting hobby of collecting dolls of foreign countries. During her high school years, Mickey has been wisely preparing for a secre- tarial career. Basketball. May Cunningham Laughing, dancing, eyes of blue. May loves to read tales of Indian lore and tall, dark braves. The time she has left she likes to collect knickknacks. After graduating. May hopes to do bookkeeping in a doctor's office, rather tame after the Indians. Debating Club, Dramatic Clab, Junior-Senior Committee. Dorothy Virginia Cutting A comrade blithe and full of glee. Dottie loves to laugh. She is a Rainbow girl, and as a Girl Scout she has received the curved bar award. Dottie wants to cheer the sick as a nurse. Basketball, 'Volleyball, Band, Dramatic Club. Mary Elizabeth Darling Time could not chill her, fortune sway. Nor toil with all its hurdeyts tire. Betty is one of the younger members of our class. She won the Humane Essay Prize in her sophomore year. She is a junior member of the Woman's Club, and also belongs to the Girls' Friendly Society. Betty plans to attend Fitchburg State Teachers College. Basketball, Dramatic Cub, The Red and Gray. Eleanor Marion DeDominicis Honest endeavor is sure reward. Eleanor is small, dark, and pretty. She is one of our best trumpet players. Hei' hobby is collecting band leaders. Band.
