Leon Charles Bellio He needs no verse In jiinie him. His merit true doth name him Leon has one quality that is unusual for a senior. He is the quiet type. Tall, dark and handsome, he has a winning way with I he fairer sex. Leon's accuracy and ability at sports are proved by his brilliant playing of baseball and basketball. To be an aviator has been his life-long dream. Basketball, Baseball 2, .S, 4. Walter Everett Bennett A man of many moods and fancies Walt not only is a well-liked, good looking lad, but a good athlete. This combination, along with the fact that he's a good dancer, makes for the grand fellow which he certainly is. ''OC alt has a good class spirit and this is one of the many reasons for the admiration he excites among his classmates. His interest lies in aviation. Track 3, 4; Football 4. Eugene Wilfred Benoit Of their own merits modest jnen are dumb Gene is a pleasant sort of fellow, who is always smiling. Out- side of school he is a member of the Boy Scouts, and his favorite sport is skating. He is interested in aeronautics and intends to make it his life's work. Louis Joseph Bernard like fun. like everyone'' Louis is a gay, young lad from Cleghorn. He builds model airplanes for a hobby and plays football, baseball and hockey. Some- day he may have his name in the annals of history as a great archi- tect, for that is his plan for a future career. Football 2. Robert Edward Best Some are good, others are better, but he' s best Bob has a natural tendency toward wearing bright ties with socks to harmonize. He may be seen and heard at any time in the corridor, where some of the happiest hours of his school life are spent. Bob is a very likeable fellow and very popular with his classmates. When he graduates he plans to become a chemist. William Dewey Blake V('e grant although he had much wit. He tvas very shy of using it Bill is a quiet and somewhat studious chap, who is heading determinedly towards a career in aviation. His main hobby is collect- ing autographs of band leaders. Being a lover of sports and good clean fun is his biggest asset. Football, Baseball 2 ; Dramatic-Club 4; Junior-Senior Reception 3; Band 3, 4; Orchestra 3, 4. John Joseph Bodanza He had a tongue at will, and yet teas never loud Johnny's favorite hobby is to discuss United States History with his friends. His favorite sport is basketball, although he does play baseball. To attend Worcester Trade School and to become a machin- ist are John's plans for the future. Basketball 2, 3 Paul Joseph Boudreau A man must devote some of his time to other things than study Paul has lots of good experience in the art of furniture uphol- stering as he works afternoons in his uncle's shop. In the spring, Paul zealously devotes all of his time to track, so that our school may remain in the top ranks. Track 2, 3, 4. Page 14

1941 Bernice Bernstein Your hearts desire be with you Bernice is a small, quiet individual. She likes crocheting and knitting, so her hands are often put to good use in this way. She plans to do secretarial work in New York. In the afternoons, she works in the office of the Independent Lock Company. Junior Senior Reception Committee 3. Kathryn Elizabeth Bishop Let all things be done decently and in order Kay is part-time student who has been a very efficient secretary for Miss Dunn. More of her spare time is spent in caring for children. Collecting snapshots is Kay's hobby. She plans to take up either clerical work or child nursing. Dramatic Club 4. Doris Lea Blouin ''Enjoy the present smiling hour and put it out of fortune's power Doris is one of our more athletic girls. She likes nothing better than a good game with plenty of competition. Studies do not play a large part in her life. Her pleasing actions, and happy disposi- tion will aid her throughout life. Volleyball, Basketball 2, 3; Hockey 2, 3, 4. Milita Anna Boeckh Thou art Miialt. but thou shalt grow One of the smallest members of our class is Becky. She is a happy-go-lucky person who doesn't believe in spending too much time in studying. Painting is her favorite pastime and she does a good job of it. Becky would like to be a commercial artist. Gertrude Ann Bonnallie The gold of the moon in her hair, The blue of the evening in her eyes Gertrude is one of the quieter members of our class. She has great scholastic ability and amazes us with the seriousness with which she delves into her studies. We know that she will be suc- cessful in her work of nursing. Dramatic Club 4; Latin Club 3, 4. Rita Eva Bouchard Fair to look upon, nice to know Rita s dark eyes, with a smile lurking in their depth, tell of fun and gaiety even though she may look timid. Her pet hobby is collecting pictures of her friends and her favorite sports. The ex- perience that she is getting as a part-time student will aid her in secretarial work. Basketball 2, 3, 4. Ruth Virginia Brackett Tall and erene: (me a girl as erer was seen Ruth is just bubbling over wtih fun and good nature. Every morning she rides down from X'estminster, laughing and chattering all the way. We recommend her as an antidote to any class which is affected by a serious case of boredom. Martha Louise Brooks The village athlete you here will meet Brooksie is an ardent tennis lover, who spends much time on the tennis court. She is always willing to give advice to beginners. Antoinette Marie Brunetti It's in the heart and not the brain That to the highest doth attain Donay is another of our sports enthusiasts. She plays hockey, volleyball, and basketball equally well. Collecting pictures of her numerous friends is her favorite hobby. She is a member of our dramatic club and also a member of St. Anthony's Dramatic Club. For a career, Donay is planning to become a nurse. Basketball 2, 3, 4; Volleyball 2, 4; Hockey 2; Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4. Constance Ann Buck She was fair and never proud. Had tongue at will; yet was never loud Brown hair, brown eyes, smiling lips, and a gay personality, are Connie's outstanding characteristics. Although she worked almost every afternoon, she still managed to be an active member in many extra-curricular activities. Her favorite subject has been art, and she hopes to make it her life work. Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4. Beatrice Florence Bull A girl, light hearted and content, I wander through the world. Bea's a girl who cheers one up, because she's always smiling, rain or shine. She likes to collect nicknacks; also she belongs to a great many church organizations. Hiking and swimming are two of her favorite out-door sports. Bea has looked into the future and thinks that she would like to do biological work. 'Volleyball 2; Basketball 2, 3; Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4; Glee Club 4. Doris Mary Caouette Her quiet and unassuming manner Brings forth her pleasant ways Doris plans to attend Teachers College. Surely with the knowl- edge she has gained here, and her pleasing manner, she will be successful. Doris is one of our honor students, but she is not a bookworm, for besides her studies she plays the piano and belongs lo the dramatic club. Basketball 2, 3, 4; Class Ring Committee 3; Dramatic Club 4; 'Write-up Committee 4. Faustina Gwendolyn Capone Her gravest tnood could scarce displace, The sunshine on her lovely face Tina, a peaceful and amiable person, is one of our talented arlists. She harmonizes beautfiully with her singing partners. 'We can truthfully say that no matter what trouble comes her way, she will certainly sing her way out of it. Her pleasant personality makes her friendly with everyone. Volleyball 3, 4; Hockey 4; Basketball 4. Claire Dora Cardinal When I view the beauties of thy face I fear not death, nor dangers nor disgrace Diminutive Claire is one of our more serious students. She just loves to play basketball and has been one of the basketball stars since entering F. H. S. On Saturdays, Claire lends her charm- ing appearance to the Cottage Garden and thus keeps the money rolling in. Her life-long ambition has been to study nursing. Basket- ball 2, 3, 4; Dramatic Club 4. Jenny Mary Celona Dark hair, dark eyes — a pleasing combination Jenny blazes a trail from way up in that suburb of Fitchburg — Notown. That she is one of our more enthusiastic basketball and volleyball players is shown by her record piled up from her forgotten freshmen days. That little smile which is permanently fixed in her eyes is said to be due to a relapse caused from excessive laughter at the Bob Hope pro gram. Basketball 2, 3; Volleyball 2, 3; Dra- matic Club 4. Mary Chakemian True worth is in being, not seeming Although Mary is a rather reserved young lady, she is friendly and considerate and has many loyal friends. As a part-timer, she worked for Miss Mattson, who found her very capable. Mary should make an efficient secretary in some business office. Basketball 3. Page 15
