BOULDER 1940 Francis William Delea Fortune favors the bold. Francis is a member of the Fitchburg Sportsmans' Club, who enjoys hunting and fishing in neighboring localities. He hopes to serve Uncle Sam as a clerk in the Post Office ; perhaps his hobby of stamp collecting has interested him in this field of work. Robert Ernest DeLorme Silence is one great art of conversation. Robert is a quiet young fellow, who, though silent most of the time, always has a ready smile and a friendly greeting for those who know him. During the afternoon Robert works for a beverage company, making soda. For his future work he intends to study accounting. Ernest Michael DiGeronimo A well-bred man is always sociable and complaisant. Ernie is that rare type of person who can, at the same time, be a good athlete and a high honor student. His recitations warm the cockles of his teachers' hearts, especially in math in which he shines. Nevertheless when he is playing football he is 150 pounds of dynamite in the shape of a fighting full back. Outside of school hours he is employed at DiNinno's Market. He hopes to go to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. Football 2, 4, Ring Committee 3, Basketball, Write-up Committee 4. Frederick John DiLucci is in learning music that many youthful hearts learn to love. Fred, the Rubinoff of the senior class, is a prominent member of the orchestra. A true lover of music he hopes to continue his study of the violin in the Boston Conservatory of Music. Besides playing the violin, Fred is active on the athletic field. He played intramural basketball and was on the relay team. Basketball 2, 3, Orchestra 2, 3, 4, Track, Relay Team 3. Lillian Mary Cormier I do the things I like to do. And leave undone the things I don't. Lillian is a short, blond, blue-eyed girl in the commercial group. Formerly, Lillian was a movie fan but lately her interest in movies has declined. It is believed that Cupid has finally reached her heart and she may soon take up domestic life. Hockey 2, French Club 2, 3, Reader's Guild 3. Pauline Emma Cote Work is only well done when it's done with a will. Pauline is a cute little brunette, who comes all the way from Ashburnham to attend our school. One of Pauline's favorite sports is dancing. She is a member of a social club and the choir of her church. Pauline's ambition is to become a hairdresser. Lucille Odna Cournoyer An ounce of mirth is worth a pound of sorrow. You will remember Lucille by her grand smile and her red hair. You may also remember her through the French Club or the Girl Scouts for she is active in both. Lucille has a collection of toy Scotty dogs. Her ambition is to be a nurse. Hockey 2, 3, Dramatic Club, French Club 2, 3, 4. Dorothy Beatrice Crockford Light of step and heart was she. Dorothy is one of the smallest girls of our class, but very active for her size. She is well-liked by both sexes. There is only one fault with Dot; she prefers dancing to books, but ranks high in both. There are no dull moments in life for this young lass. Councillor, Dramatic Club 2, Basketball 3, Debating Club 2, 3, 4. Page 18

BOULDER 1940 Guy Rudolph Corbosiero Wit is the flower of imagination. , • Guy can usually be found bustling around the school, snapping pictures left and right with his trusty Argus. He is the most candid of candid camera fans and his pictures show that he is no amateur in the art of developing and printing films. His fame as a debater is well known and he is often seen preparing for his next battle of wits and words. He is looking forward to a career in the field of medicine. Dramatic Club, Debating Club 2, 3, 4, Open Meeting 3, Band 3, 4, German Club, Senior Class Play 4. Lawrence Arthur Cravedi He attains whatever he attempts. One of the more talkative members of our class, Lawrence al- ways has a ready smile and an argument. After graduation he plans to continue working in the market and hopes someday to own his own store. Football 2, 3, Glee Club 4. John Lenice Cushing The contented man is never poor. John, who came to Fitchburg High from Braintree where he was on the gymnastic team, is an ardent builder of model airplanes. His hobby, however, taken up after his day's work is finished, is working as a gas station attendant for the Fitchburg Ice Company. In addition to this he often goes hunting, fishing, and trapping. Gym Team, Track 2, Relay 3. Kenneth Paul Darcy Simplicity of chaiacter is the natural result of proud thought. Not very much is heard from Kenny around school, even though he is one of the handsomest boys in our class. His brown wavy hair is a great asset to his appearance. Kenny is frequently seen at dances both in school and out. Phyllis Margarite Cleveland The old-fashioned girl is best. Phyllis is an interesting person to know. She intends to be a bookkeeper. Volley- ball 3, Dramatic 4. m Helen Jane Cohen As merry as the day is long. Helen is one of our attractive brunettes. Josephine Ann Contessa Be silent and safe; silence never betrays you. Jo is one of our best part-timers. She has no great ambition, but hopes to be a private secretary. Although Jo is taller than the average girl in our class, you do not seem to notice her height, but you can't possibly help noticing her big brown eyes! Volleyball 2, 3,4. Gladys Lillian Cooke Her singing, and her merry glee The mocking bird echoed from his tree. Cookie, being full of appealing friendliness, is one of the best natured lassies of our class. We shall always remember her as the golden voiced girl of the class of '40, who never failed to captivate her listening audience. Besides excelling vocally, she excels also in dancing, basketball, and was once a pingpong champ. Cookie's voice would carry her far, but her plans for the future are domestic. BOULDER 1940 Henry Anthony DiTcmmaso Character is the governing, element of life and is above genius. Hank is tall and humorous. Hank plans to enter Noriheastern University after he graduates. Football 2, 3, 4. John Kenneth Dupress The pen is the tongue of the mind. John has built himself quite a reputation by winning several prize essays. He has a marvelous faculty for remembering facts and a cunning logic which he exercises in argumentation, as members of Mr. Dillon's history class have found out. He is interested in science, and has read a good deal about radio, electricity, and the photo-electric cell. Red and Gray 3, 4, Round Table 4. Roderic Alfred Durling Cheerfulness is the sign of wisdom. Rod is one of those persons who make themselves felt rather than heard. He sings second tenor in the Glee Club. Durward Wells Eastman Jesters do often prove prophets. A mighty hunter he! Durward, according to all reports, is a regular Nimrod, who during the hunting season can be seen al- most any day roaming the forests in pursuit of his favorite sport. The stories which he relates of his prowess as a huntsman help relieve the monotony of the school day, for the least of them is suffi- cient to liven the dullest moment. She is also an active mem- ber of the Christian Endeavor Society. Her hobby is making collec- tions of miniature articles. Business school will probably beckon Jean after graduation. Irene Flora DeLisle Mine is a lofty ambition as wide as the world I covet. Irene is a small, dark-haired girl who pores over her books and studies very hard. Irene has already made her entry at St. Vincent's Hospital, Worcester and is determined to become an expert nurse. She is also interested in collecting old coins. Basketball 2. Josephine Ethel Dellagono A smile that glows with friendship. Joe is neither rowdy nor dull. Her presence brightens the social gatherings of her own crowd. Jo's passions are dancing and the movies. Anna Der-Minasian These are the days of our youth, our days of glory and honor. Anna is the dark curly-haired girl you see flitting around the corridors. All the girls envy her lovely naturally curly hair. Anna is also another one of the many girls in our class whose ambition is to design clothes. This is not surprising because Anna's hobby is sewing.
