BOULDER. 1940 Alfred William Boucher He most prevails who nobly dares. Alfred has a quiet but likable personality. He spends a great deal of his time reading and is well versed in many subjects. During the years that he has spent in Fitchburg High we all have come to like him, and feel sure that he will be a success in the paper busi- ness which he has chosen for his life's work. Gerard Jean Boudreau Chance everywhere has power. Here's a fellow who knows of things to do and how to do them. In school he's the tall, rather quiet young man with the curly hair that all girls seem to like. And if you want to know anything about U. S. History, Gerard is the fellow to ask. John Vearen Bowers Gaiety is the soul's health. The Great Dubber must have found the fountain of youth because he always appears as fresh as a spring day even though he maintains a job at the Y, goes to at least one dance a week, has had dates with thirty-six different girls, belongs to the Hi-Y, worries about his future, and leads our cheers. What a man! Football, Debasing Club 2, Basketball, Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4, Junior-Senior Reception 3, Cheerleader 3, 4, Pep Club, Open Meeting, Senior Class Play 4. Lawrence Newell Brigham A tender heart; a will inflexible. Larry's reliability is well-known, for during the past three years he has held several responsible positions in school. Since his sopho- more year he has been a business manager of the Red and Gray. During his junior year he was a member of the Class Ring Com- mittee, and this year he has been a collector of class dues. Red and Gray Board 2, 3, 4, Class Ring 3, Band 3, 4, Class Dues 4. Gloria Ann Boscardin Work well done, will always aid one. • Gloria is one of our special honor pupils. Her scholastic ability has made her well-known to all the class members. She has never jR come to school with lessons unprepared. We know she will be an efficient teacher, for such is her ambition. Hockey 2, Deck Tennis, Latin Club, Red and Gray Board 3, 4, Round Table, Councillor 4. y s Irene Rose Boucher (j ty. Nothing is impossible to a willing heart. Irene is a very pleasant girl with a ready smile for everyone. She is one of the few lucky girls who have been chosen to be a Junior Member of the Fitchburg Women's Club. Irene's ambition is to be a teacher of either French or history. Basketball, Volley- ball 2, French Club 3, Dramatic Club, Write-up Committee 4. Claire Gloria Boudreau Earnestness commands the respect of mankind. Claire is one of our most efficient part-timers. She is learning the trade of a librarian from Miss Sherwin. Being musically inclined she enjoys strumming her guitar and yodeling. Claire is also a col- lector of stamps and snapshots. After gradua tion she wishes to be an efficient and accurate secretary. Volleyball 2, Basketball 2, 3, 4, Dramatic Club 2, 4, French Club 4. Laura Mary Boudreau Chatter helps the world go round. Laura is usually considered a quiet girl. She is short, small, has dark hair, and sparkling brown eyes. She doesn't believe in studying too much. She passes her time studying photography and she now develops her own films. She loves to collect snapshots. She would like to become a typist after graduation. French Club 2, 3, 4. Page 13

BOLLDE . V 1940 William Peter Bianchini An honest man's word is as good as his bond. Willie is a little fellow with a big smile. His dancing ability, we are all familiar with. At present he helps Rudy with his dancing s;udio. Willie is a great runner and his plans for the future run along this line. Willie tells us that girls do not seriously interest h'm for he is bent on remaining a bachelor. Track Team 2, 3, Junior Prom 3, Relay Team 3, 4, Dramatic Club, Pep Club 4. Kirwan Albert Bilson A smile is worth a million dollars but it doesn't cost a cent. Kirwin goes by the nam; of Ace in Westminster, a name which was given him because of his skill in all sports, especially softball. He received, also, another nickname. Speed, a result of his work in his father's store. If he gets into the Navy, which is his ambition, he may acquire another nickname. Track 3. Robert Elmer Blanchard Character is higher than intellect. Robert is the strong silent type, and can usually be found talk- ing in the corridor. Although not an overzealous student, Bob is an excellent dancer, and this seems to him to be more important than school work. Bob's memory is not of the best, and it is perhaps because of this that he intends to become a plumber, so as to con- tinue the plumber's custom of forgetting tools. Hector Ernest Bolduc An ounce of cheerfulness is worth a pound of sadness. Hector has one guiding passion in his life — his Ford. As soon as school is over he may be seen dashing for his beloved jalopy, and as far as we have been able to find out, he seems to spend most of his time tinkering with it. At one time during his school career he sang first bass in the Glee Club and did an excellent job of it. At present he works for the Bolduc Ice Corporation, and someday hopes to take change of the business. Yvanna Marv Belletete Be good, sweet maid, and let who will, be clever. Yvanna is a quiet member of the class. She gave equal amounts of time to her studies and social activities. Her great ambition is to become a nurse. Gertrude Lucille Belliveau Politeness costs nothing, and gains everything. Gert with her dark hair and eyes is an interesting person to know. She is a swell pal, a grand sport, and one of the best dancers in our class. Her ability at artistic decoration was proved by her work on the Junior Prom Committee. Although we feel that her art could carry her far, Gert's plans for the future are comparatively domestic. Hockey, Dramatic Club 2, Volleyball 2, 3, Junior Prom 3. Doris Mae Berry Enjoy life while you may. Doris is very, very quiet for so big a girl. She is a willing worker, and will stick to a thing until it's finished. Doris has a sense of humor, which, perhaps, helps her in taking care of children after school. Her goal is office work. Basketball 2. Yvonne Bernadette Blanchette And every hour, a thought in readiness. Yvonne is that jolly, medium-size, brown-haired girl you see passing quietly in the corridors. Although she belongs to the com- mercial group she does not believe in studying too much, although she has fairly good marks to her credit. She belongs to the 4H Club, which was organized by a group of girls in South Fitchburg. Her hobbies are collecting stamps and photographs of her friends. After graduation, she would like to work in an office. Page 12

BOULDER 1940 George Edward Brown He possesses a hearty appetite. George claims he is going to be a big game hunter. He is a happy kind of fellow and is always ready with a quick comeback. Collecting medals was once his hobby but he decided that button pins would be much easier to obtain. He also collects keys and padlocks which he rattles on Hallowe'en night. Arthur William Brusila An honest heart possesses a kingdom. Art helps, as a stage hand, to put on our dramatic productions. He is very much interested in photography. Arthur is in the trombone section of the band. Art tells good fish stories because he has had lots of practice for his hobby is fishing. Club 4. Band 2, 3, 4, Dramatic Doris Louise Bowen She studies music, we have learned. Doris is talented in many arts. Her interest must lie in the finer things of life, for not only has she shown her ability in art, but in music as well. Her hobby is handicrafts and drawing, and she was a member of the Art Club in her sophomore year. She is a fine pianist and has often delighted the Dramatic Club with her playing. She plans to continue her studies in music after graduation. Art Club 2, Orchestra 3, Dramatic Club 4. Reathel Marguerite Briggs For a light heart Hies long. Tall, dark, and glamorous, Ray has captured the heart of many a lad. But only one remained and sadly enough he is now at college. Ray passes the dull moments away by learning the latest songs and keeping sport write-ups. She is a lovely dancing partner. She is interested in advertising. Basketball 2. 4. Hockey 3, 4. Loretta Dorothy Brooks Merrily, merrily shall I live. Loretta has the desirable combination of a fair complexion, brown wavy hair, and a sunny disposition. We can usually see Loretta hurrying to and from Crocker Field, for she is Mr. Steven- son's capable secretary. Her chief occupation is shooting people — with a camera, of course. This young lady's future plans include becoming a private secretary to a criminal lawyer, where she will see that justice is done. Volleyball 2, Basketball, Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4, French Club 3. Olympia Lee Buratti Deep hair, dark eyes — not too dark To be deep, and full of feeling. Lee is the great sport of the senior class for she is a very active and attractive athlete in basketball, hockey, and volleyball. Lee is planning to become either a telephone operator or a dress designer. Besides playing the piano she likes to collect pictures of movie stars. Volleyball, Basketball 2, 3, 4, Hockey 2, 4, Dramatic Club 3, 4. Page 14 Walter Elmer Buck Learning, like the lunar beam, affords light. Some of Bucky's virtues are his wavy blond hair, his blue eyes, his height, and his manner. He is a great sportsman, particularly in hunting. He also is very energetic as he gets up early to peddle milk. Bucky is also active in the DeMolay. Football 2. James Vincent Patrick Carnivale Habits form character and character is destiny. James is a cheerful little classmate, who exhibited exceptional skill in basketball. This athletic skill is not limited to basketball only but extends to other sports as well. The principles he has learned from his hobby of airplane modeling should prove an asset in his endeavor to become a pilot in the United States Air Force. Basket- ball 4.
