She is also a Girl Scout in Troop 13. Lauretta Mae Balzer Sport is the bloom and glow of perfect health. Here is a girl we seldom see unhappy. She is a staunch friend, and full of fun. Her merry eyes show, as does the whistle in her throat, a love of mischief and gaiety. She, however, has serious thoughts for the future, and aspires to be a great swimmer. Her crawl stroke is beautiful to see. She is one of our star basketball players. Basketball 2, 3, 4. Helen Elizabeth Barholm Enjoy the present smiling hour And put it out of fortune's power. When you see a curly blond head bobbing along the corridor, you may be certain it is Helen. Helen's cheerfulness will surely chase those glooms away. She can laugh at a joke, be it - on herself or someone else. Her time is pretty well occupied, either in reading, drawing, or working at the B. F. Brown School. Ida Helen Barrett A willing heart makes a willing hand. Ida is one Westminsterite who should get a medal for braving last winter's storms in order to come to school. Kirwan Albert Bilson A smile is worth a million dollars but it doesn't cost a cent. Kirwin goes by the nam; of Ace in Westminster, a name which was given him because of his skill in all sports, especially softball. He received, also, another nickname. Speed, a result of his work in his father's store. If he gets into the Navy, which is his ambition, he may acquire another nickname. Track 3. Robert Elmer Blanchard Character is higher than intellect. Robert is the strong silent type, and can usually be found talk- ing in the corridor. Although not an overzealous student, Bob is an excellent dancer, and this seems to him to be more important than school work. Bob's memory is not of the best, and it is perhaps because of this that he intends to become a plumber, so as to con- tinue the plumber's custom of forgetting tools. Hector Ernest Bolduc An ounce of cheerfulness is worth a pound of sadness. Hector has one guiding passion in his life — his Ford. As soon as school is over he may be seen dashing for his beloved jalopy, and as far as we have been able to find out, he seems to spend most of his time tinkering with it. At one time during his school career he sang first bass in the Glee Club and did an excellent job of it. At present he works for the Bolduc Ice Corporation, and someday hopes to take change of the business. Yvanna Marv Belletete Be good, sweet maid, and let who will, be clever. Yvanna is a quiet member of the class. She gave equal amounts of time to her studies and social activities. Her great ambition is to become a nurse. Gertrude Lucille Belliveau Politeness costs nothing, and gains everything. Gert with her dark hair and eyes is an interesting person to know. Although we feel that her art could carry her far, Gert's plans for the future are comparatively domestic. Hockey, Dramatic Club 2, Volleyball 2, 3, Junior Prom 3. Doris Mae Berry Enjoy life while you may. Doris is very, very quiet for so big a girl. She is a willing worker, and will stick to a thing until it's finished. Doris has a sense of humor, which, perhaps, helps her in taking care of children after school. Her goal is office work. Basketball 2. Yvonne Bernadette Blanchette And every hour, a thought in readiness. Yvonne is that jolly, medium-size, brown-haired girl you see passing quietly in the corridors. Although she belongs to the com- mercial group she does not believe in studying too much, although she has fairly good marks to her credit. She belongs to the 4H Club, which was organized by a group of girls in South Fitchburg. Her hobbies are collecting stamps and photographs of her friends.
