BOULDER 1940 Allan Jacob Aalto Silence is more eloquent than words. Allan is a quiet member of our class. Although he has not partic- ipated in any school sports, he enjoys skiing and photography. We do not know his future plans. Sidney Byron Abell Good looks are a great recommendation in the business of mankind. Sidney is a member of the Hi-Y club and co-editor of its news- paper. He is a member of the club's bowling league and is a candi- date for the school tennis team. Sidney hopes to become an adver- tising manager. Councillor 2, Intramural Basketball 2, 3, 4, Tennis 3, 4, Dramatic Club 4. Sumner Norman Alperin He who binds his soul to knowledge, seals the key to heaven. When Worcester Classical lost Sumner, Fitchburg gained a high ranking student and a fine football player. For amusement Al col- lects stamps, engages in photography, and is a member of the Debat- ing Club. After high school he plans to enter Worcester Tech or some other technical college, in order to study electrical engineering. Football, Debating Club, Round Table 4. Herbert Allen Autio An honest man' s word is as good as his bond. S Herby is one of our few redheaded boys. Though he has not- j. 5 taken part in many school activities, Herby is quite busy outside of school with his hobbies, chemistry, hunting, and fishing. During his mostly in hunt- C summer vacations at Wyman's Pond, Herby indulges mostly ing and fishing. Councillor 3. research chemist some day. 1 Agnes Sophie Adams May she continue and proceed In honor's fair career. Agnes uses most of her spare time on two of her hobbies, which are a collection of pictures of motion picture actors and actresses and a collection of poems. Both are large and interesting and all the pictures and poems are very well arranged. Doing things so neatly and carefully will help her very much if she becomes a bookkeeper. Dorothy Edna Aho Youth comes but once in a lifetime. Edna is one of our many blue-eyed blonds. We miss her greatly at school affairs which she too infrequently attends. Deck tennis seems to be the only sport in which she is interested. Lowe Play- ground also seems to be a place of interest for Edna. Bessie Angelos Knowledge is more than equivalent to force. Bessie is one of the few fortunate girls of our class who have lovely brown eyes. She always seems to be in a hurry to get some- where. We expect Bessie to have a smart little bakery shop of her own very soon because she has already started her training by work- ing in a bakery store after school. Although she has not participated in many school activities, Bessie will be remembered by everyone because of her ready smile. Virginia Agnes Andrew A comrade blythe and full of cheer. Ginnie is one of our more active seniors. Besides being a mem- ber of our Pep Club she is also interested in sports, especially basketball in which she ranks tops. Ginnie has a liking for classical music and melodious voices. We wonder why. She has a Scotch sense of humor which, it is rumored, runs through the family. Her ambi- tion for the future is to attend Bradford Junior College and Smith where she intends to major in history and math. Theresa Cecile Aubin Laugh, and the world laughs with you. rhe-esa is one of the light-haired girls in the commercial group. She is fairly tall, has shining bright eyes, and is in great demand because of her delightful laugh and cheerful manner. Although she has shown an interest in secretarial work, her plans for the future are undecided. She may be seen at the movies regularly and her hobby is collecting photographs of screen stars. She is also a Girl Scout in Troop 13. Lauretta Mae Balzer Sport is the bloom and glow of perfect health. Here is a girl we seldom see unhappy. She is a staunch friend, and full of fun. Her merry eyes show, as does the whistle in her throat, a love of mischief and gaiety. She, however, has serious thoughts for the future, and aspires to be a great swimmer. Her crawl stroke is beautiful to see. She is one of our star basketball players. Basketball 2, 3, 4. Helen Elizabeth Barholm Enjoy the present smiling hour And put it out of fortune's power. When you see a curly blond head bobbing along the corridor, you may be certain it is Helen. Helen's cheerfulness will surely chase those glooms away. She can laugh at a joke, be it - on herself or someone else. Her time is pretty well occupied, either in reading, drawing, or working at the B. F. Brown School. Ida Helen Barrett A willing heart makes a willing hand. Ida is one Westminsterite who should get a medal for braving last winter's storms in order to come to school.
