Eino Arvid Erkkila A man of knowledge increaseth strength. Here we have a true lover of outdoor sport. To Eino, there is nothing more pleasing than to get out in the woods and hunt wild game. In school Eino often keeps to himself, but he can be and often is a ray of sunshine among his friends. Guy Rodney Farwell will not conceal his parts, nor his power. Guy is one of the busiest boys in school. He is vice-president of the Hi-Y Club. Guy plays the tuba in the band and the bass viol in the orchestra. He is co-editor of the Red and Gray. Band, Orchestra 2, 3, 4, Red and Gray Board 3, 4. George Dana Fletcher Learning is the eye of the mind. Dana, his middle name, is more familiar to us. He is a diminu- tive student who doesn't make much noise around school. He's always apparently happy and especially after he's been-a-huntin'. We wonder what he catches. Dana's constant companion is his cousin (male). Though quiet, Dana is well liked. Junior-Senior Reception Committee 3. John Francis Flynn Laughter and fun are my close friends. One never sees Johnny without a smile on his pleasant counte- nance. He works in the Charles Deneen grocery store on West- minster Street. Johnny spends much of his time ice-skating, but he also finds time for football and baseball. Relay Team 3, Intra- mural Basketball 3, 4, Marshal 4. Constance Glada Efverman No legacy is so rich as honesty. Look before you leap is Connie's firm motto. She is one of those cautious people who always believe in watchfulness. Connie's resolute belief in her slogan seems to prove that another of her qualities is steadfastness. She plans to enter Fitchburg State Teachers College next year. Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4, Volleyball 3, Marshal 4. Rose Marie Elkas Silence is golden. Rose is known to us by her hurrying and scurrying down the corridors. She must feel she hasn't enough time between periods. She divides her spare time either serving as her father's assistant in his furniture store, or playing the piano which is her favorite pas- time. Glee Club 3, 4. Dorothy Helen Erickson Qtiiet and good-natured is she. Dorothy is one of our quiet and serious-minded students. She is loyal and also has a sense of responsibility. Despite her quiet manner in school, she finds enjoyment outside because she craves excitement and adventure. She also enjoys automobile riding with the opposite sex. Virginia Freda Erickson Nothing is troublesome that we do willingly. Ginny, whose favorite pastime is sewing, is an attractive blond with blue eyes. She is reputed to be quite skillful with the needle and sews most of her own clothes. Basketball is the one sport Ginny likes best, and this she plays very well. After gradua- tion Ginny hopes to work as a stenographer in some office. Basket- ball 2, 3, Volleyball 3. Page 22

Grant Eckfeldt Youth is wholly experimental. Grant is the seen but not heard type in school and one has to really know him to understand his likeable disposition. There's a fun-loving nature hidden behind that quiet appearance, so don't let him fool you. Hunting is his favorite pastime and he rarely tells of the one that got away because he usually gets his game. Thanksgiving Dance Committee 4. John William Emanuelson So much is a man worth as he esteems himself. Johnnie may be short of stature, but this doesn't hinder him from shining on the basketball floor. This good looking chap is envied by many of the male members of the class because he can capture fair hearts so easily. He captures the admiration of every- one, however, because of his many likeable characteristics. Basket- ball 2, 3, 4, Junior Prom Committee, Relay Team 3, Councillor 3, 4, Marshal 4. Herbert Walter Erickson Rapidity is a virtue. Herb is one of our quiet, but business-like, students. He is very serious and conscientious. The track team was aided a great deal by Herb's work in the mile run. Herb was also very good in gymnasium work. Skiing and airplanes are his favorite subjects for conversation, oral talks, or themes. Track Team 3. Arno Andrew Erkkila It is the mind that makes the man. If you need anything built, razed or repaired, start searching for Arno. The best place to look for him is backstage, from which position he is practically inseparable. He happens to be one of Miss Peabody's efficient troup of helpers, present at any high school dramatic performance. Class Ring Committee 3, Class Prophecy, Business Manager Boulder, Marshal 4. Marion Patricia DiNatale Perseverance keeps honor bright. Marion has recently obtained her driving license. She has also appeared well on the dance floor, and putting the two together, we find her stepping high. Nevertheless, she keeps after her studies and has rated high in her subjects. Basketball 2, 3, 4. Florence Ann Dinneen Let us be content in work to do the thing we can. Florence is the little girl in our class who does a good deed every day. She's a Girl Scout, and a Golden Eaglet at that. One is sure to find her helping younger scouts in all her spare moments. Someday she hopes to become a nurse, and her scout training should help her to that goal. Geraldine Isabella DiTommaso The reward of a thing well done, is to have it done. Gerry is a pretty light-haired girl whose favorite sports are basketball and tennis. She likes to hike, and for a more serious interest, she works in Lincoln's Department Store on Saturdays. Her hobbies are collecting poems, pen-pals, and from what we hear, she is quite a correspondent! Her ambition is simply to become a good nurse. Volleyball 2, 3, Basketball 2, 3, 4, Dramatic Club 2, 4, History Club 3, Write-up Committee 4. Mary Drago Example is always more efficacious than precept. Here is a senior who truly has a wicked twinkle in her eye. Mary always has a finger in the pie when some mischief is afoot. This senior is known for her skill in basketball. Books for her are more of an annoyance than a help. Glee Club 2, Basketball 2, 3, 4, Volleyball 3, 4. Page 21

Bernard Arthur Fossa I can master awkward things. This witty gum-chewing young man, with his mop of uncombed hirsute adornment, is a great favorite with the ferns, or so he thinks. We understand that Bernie is cultivating his voice for the job of train announcer when he grows up. Basketball, Tennis 2, 3, 4, Track Team 3, 4, Science Club, Baseball, Relay Team 3, Dramatic Club 4, Designer Class Banner 3. Eugene Charles Fournier A proper man as one shall see in a summer's day. Gene is one of the most unobstrusive boys in our class. His chief interests can be found in the great out-of-doors. If you are looking for Gene anytime during the hunting season, you will probably discover him in the woods. Franklin Bela Gage Silence has many virtues. Frankie is a quiet bashful boy. He hardly ever speaks to the boys, and actually shies away from the girls. He works at the family gas station after school and is also the family chauffeur. Albert Edgar Gendron In the lexicon of youth, there is no such word as fail. Bert has been the most dynamic cheer leader a class could have, and we're all proud of him. This good-looking, dark haired lad, possessing a winning smile has not gone unnoticed by the girls, for he dances well. He displays in all his school activities a cheerful personality. Football 2, Basketball, Cheer Leader 2, 3, 4, Baseball, History Club, Councillor 3, Dramatic Club, Marshal, Tennis 4. Betty Jane Erler Thou art smill, but thou shall grow. Betty is a diminutive girl with lovely blue eyes which sparkle when she smiles. We hear very little from Betty in school because she is one of the quietest girls in our class. Betty's time after school is spent taking care of her younger sister. Elizabeth Jeanne Farrell 'Tis wise to learn. Betty is one of our talented students who show considerable ability in leading the Girl Scouts through their holiday drills. Betty is also a charter member of the Night Hawks. We don't know where she secured her Alpine hat, but it's awfully cute. Basket- ball 2, 3,4, Hockey 2, 4. Roxena Helen Fellows She is a wee little thing. Roxy is a little girl with a catching giggle. Once Shorty starts to laugh, no one about her can keep a straight face. She works in the office of the Red Cross, and she likes all kinds of social service work. She's a hard worker and likes to take an active part in everything. Basketball, Volleyball 2, 3, Dramatic Club 4. Mildred Alice Feltman She burns with the fire of good nature. Mim, as she is called by her friends, is a rather quiet little girl except for her shrill laugh. She likes all sports; skating and sliding are her specialties. When she is not doing this, she can be seen riding around in a green Pontiac. Page 23
