Thomas Warren Duval find earth not gray, but rosy. Tommy is the curly-headed boy of the school. His hair is waved so perfectly that it is often mistaken for a permanent. He takes bookkeeping, and someday should be an accomplished ac- countant. Mary Barbara Coughlin The well of true wit, is truth itself. Bo is noted for her flaxen hair and her freckles. Michael Diamond Life is a jest, and all things show it, I thought so once, but now I know it. Mike is not very tall, and has dark eyes which seem to be always on the lookout for some mischief. Mike's favorite pastime is to see how long he can keep in his mouth, without being caught, a stick of gum which he is eternally chewing. Junior-Senior Relay 3, Intramural Basketball 3, 4. Francis John Dignam, Jr. A man's own manners do shape his fortune. Dig is another of those seniors who go in for dancing in a big way. Frankie was also one of our hard fighting gridsters for two years. He used to say he wanted to be a big sailorman, but lately we haven't heard him mention the Navy. Football 2, 3, 4, Dramatic Club 3, 4, Marshal 4. Thomas Magner Donovan Speech is great, but silence is greater. Tim is 2 true scholar. He spends a lot of his time translating Latin for Mr. Hubbard. He is frequently seen driving his father's Packard about town. He has a very great interest in science, especially biology. Many a night has Tim gone on a call with his father to watch an operation. We expect to see Dr. Thomas Dono- van's shingle hung out about ten years from now. Editor, The Boulder 4. Robert Joseph Drinkwine All must be earnest in a world like ours. Robert has a flair for bright colored flannel shirts, which he constantly wears during winter. He is described by some of his close friends as a quiet, peace-loving, right guy. His favorite sports are football and golf; he also likes running and was a member of the Junior Relay Team in 1938. Junior-Senior Relay 3. MOB ;' V Ruth Evelyn Connors Friendship is the breathing rose. Ruthie is one of our neatest dressers, for she seldom looks as if her feathers were ruffled. They say she's coming along fine with her driving lessons — of course with so many teachers, who wouldn't learn easily! Ruthie's big blue eyes have caused many a passing comment. Glee Club 2, Junior Banner Committee 3, Dramatic Club 4. Lillian Louise Copp Her smiling eyes with simple truth were stored. She flies through the air with the greatest of ease! This is Lillian on her skis. The girl must have been born to them! But she can skate equally as well. She also dances and likes the movies. Lillian enjoys herself throughly in whatever she does. Her secret, ''Be yourself. Barbara Vance Corkum The secret of success is, constancy of purpose. Barbara, a tall, pretty blond, is somewhat the belle of West Fitchburg. She can wear her hair in the most extreme styles and still look well since she has the advantage of a comely oval face. Barbara is a good sport, who takes delight in skating, swimming, and playing basketball. Hockey 2, Volleyball 2, 3, Basketball 2, 3, 4, History Club 3, Dramatic Club 3, 4. Grant Eckfeldt Youth is wholly experimental. Grant is the seen but not heard type in school and one has to really know him to understand his likeable disposition. There's a fun-loving nature hidden behind that quiet appearance, so don't let him fool you. Hunting is his favorite pastime and he rarely tells of the one that got away because he usually gets his game. Thanksgiving Dance Committee 4. John William Emanuelson So much is a man worth as he esteems himself. Johnnie may be short of stature, but this doesn't hinder him from shining on the basketball floor. This good looking chap is envied by many of the male members of the class because he can capture fair hearts so easily. He captures the admiration of every- one, however, because of his many likeable characteristics. Basket- ball 2, 3, 4, Junior Prom Committee, Relay Team 3, Councillor 3, 4, Marshal 4. Herbert Walter Erickson Rapidity is a virtue. Herb is one of our quiet, but business-like, students. He is very serious and conscientious. The track team was aided a great deal by Herb's work in the mile run. Herb was also very good in gymnasium work. Skiing and airplanes are his favorite subjects for conversation, oral talks, or themes. Track Team 3. Arno Andrew Erkkila It is the mind that makes the man. If you need anything built, razed or repaired, start searching for Arno. The best place to look for him is backstage, from which position he is practically inseparable. He happens to be one of Miss Peabody's efficient troup of helpers, present at any high school dramatic performance. Class Ring Committee 3, Class Prophecy, Business Manager Boulder, Marshal 4. Marion Patricia DiNatale Perseverance keeps honor bright. Marion has recently obtained her driving license. She has also appeared well on the dance floor, and putting the two together, we find her stepping high. Nevertheless, she keeps after her studies and has rated high in her subjects. Basketball 2, 3, 4. Florence Ann Dinneen Let us be content in work to do the thing we can. Florence is the little girl in our class who does a good deed every day. She's a Girl Scout, and a Golden Eaglet at that. One is sure to find her helping younger scouts in all her spare moments. Someday she hopes to become a nurse, and her scout training should help her to that goal. Geraldine Isabella DiTommaso The reward of a thing well done, is to have it done. Gerry is a pretty light-haired girl whose favorite sports are basketball and tennis. She likes to hike, and for a more serious interest, she works in Lincoln's Department Store on Saturdays. Her hobbies are collecting poems, pen-pals, and from what we hear, she is quite a correspondent! Her ambition is simply to become a good nurse. Volleyball 2, 3, Basketball 2, 3, 4, Dramatic Club 2, 4, History Club 3, Write-up Committee 4. Mary Drago Example is always more efficacious than precept. Here is a senior who truly has a wicked twinkle in her eye. Mary always has a finger in the pie when some mischief is afoot. This senior is known for her skill in basketball. Books for her are more of an annoyance than a help. Glee Club 2, Basketball 2, 3, 4, Volleyball 3, 4. Page 21
