Donald Clifford Alexander Those who think nobly, are noble. Wherever he goes he is always in a rush, with his unusually long stride. We can account for this, for he is a busy boy in school and out. In his spare moments when he has his German done, we find him conversing with Miss Peabody. His outside work con- sists of church activities, scouting, and a good deal of time spent in his home workshop. Dramatic Club 2, French Club 2, 3, Radio Club 3, 4, Junior-Senior Reception Committee 3, Write-up Com- mittee, Councillor, Marshal 4. Bernard Francis Ashe Benevolence is the distinguishing characteristic of man. A typical boy, quiet in action but always accomplishing great things. We find in him a glow of welcome and friendly regard for all who approach him. His goal is to become an accountant. Bernhard Autula Bashf ulness is an ornament to youth. s Bernhard is one of our most studious members. He works a a part-timer for Miss Dunn. He is also considered one of our quietest students and has little to sav about himself. Intramural Basketball, Radio Club 3, 4, Dramatic Club 4. John Daniel Lynn Bailey Let your own discretion be your tutor. John is better known to his classmates as Lynn. He's one of those rare fellows who are interested in hunting and fishing as a hobby. The first day of the hunting season is sure to find Lynn taking to the woods. He is also a good student and an enjoyable friend. History Club, Class Color and Flower Committee 3. Ida Mary Arcangeli A quiet girl well known to few. Ida is one of our efficient secretaries-to-be from Westminster. She is so engrossed in her typewriting that she often stays after school to improve her technique. Dramatic Club 2. Faith Hathaway Atkinson The enthusiasm of youth. Faith came to us from Leominster High School in our junior year and has since become an essential part of our class. Her appearance and actions are very collegiate. She has attained her fine sports reputation by refereeing and playing on miscellaneous teams. Faith sings beautifully but, unfortunately, is too modest about it. She plans to attend State Teachers' College and become a history teacher. Basketball, History Club, Class Color and Flower Committee 3, Dramatic Club 3, 4, Hockey, Art Club 4. Elsbeth Helene Austel Talent and wit, an excellent combination. Elsbeth came to F. H. S. from Leominster High this year and quickly became an active member of the class. Elsbeth is a good student and her name has made the honor roll. She has a lovely singing voice, participates actively in sports, and is fond of writing. Basketball, Dramatic Club, Red and Gray Board 4. Eleanor Ruth Bailey A merry heart goes all the day. Eleanor is a lover of sweet music. This we know because she has often been seen at the Wednesday night concerts at Coggshall Park. In school Eleanor is another one of those classroom comedians. Norman Robert Adler He is witty, he is wise He's a terror for his size. A vagabond of the road! Sonny can be seen driving aro und at most any time in his little Ford; that is, if he isn't repairing it. Peddling newspapers gives Sonny the exercise of which riding deprives him. He's one of the smallest men of our class, but small men have been known to do great things. Aimo Allan Ahola Slow and sure was his manner. Once Aimo was among the smallest members of our class, but the last year has seen a great change as he is now among the tallest. Aimo is industrious, and the saying, He who works will be re- warded, holds true for Aimo, since he is among the high ranking students. Track Team 3, 4, Baseball 4. Anthony Joseph Alario Where he is melancholy cannct stay. Tony has a weakness for noisy shoes. Upon looking to see who is making the noise, we see Tony's ample figure and his red, round, smiling face before us. Tony intends to own a chain of grocery stores. You should succeed, Tony, if you don't eat all the profits first. David Warner Aldrich None but himself can be his parallel. Dave is a mischievous little fellow, often mistaken for a sopho- more because of his height. He likes to drive a car and is often seen driving a Waites-Corner grocery truck. Catherine Joan Adams She's a regular girl in every way. Catherine is a little lady with a merry laugh and delightful disposition. With sparkling eyes she travels the corridors and utters jolly hello's. Catherine is particularly noted for those flash- ing eyes. Her inseparable companion is Denise Aubuchon. Glee Club 2, Junior Prom Committee 3, Dramatic Club, French Club 3, 4. Louise Augusta Adams The sweetest garland to the sweetest maid. Louise is a wonderful example of a good-natured, happy, and likable girl who radiates happiness all about her. She intends to devote herself to bookkeeping, at which she should make good. Jean Phy llis Anderson The true, strong, and sound mind Embraces all things great and small. Jean is a curly blond-haired senior with a happy-go-lucky expression. The only time Jean becomes serious is in United States History period where she is noted for her witty remarks concerning this subject. There being two Miss Andersons in her U. S. period, Jean decided to recite not only for herself, but for her fellow name- sake. History Club 3, Basketball 3, 4, Dramatic Club 4. Thelma Helen Anderson They who are faithful to themselves find happiness. Thelma is a new member of our class who came from way up in Maine. She is interested in all sports and is an ardent basketball player. Sly and quiet, with a becoming blush, Thelma finds our high school a diverting place. Page 11

Anthony Joseph Barbero Not too serious, not too gay, A good fellow in every way. Ninny's hobbies at present are airplane modeling and playinS tennis. Driving cars has a great fascination for Ninny, and he drives whenever opportunity presents itself. After school hours Ninny can be seen working in DiNinno's Market on Water Street. His chief ambition is to be successful in some phase of business. Floyd Franklin Barney The price of wisdom is above rubies. Floyd is one of our representatives from Lunenburg. This is his first year at F. H. S., but he has made many friends by his cheerful ways. This farm boy is a basketball enthusiast, and we also hear that he is quite handy with a gun. Basketball 4. Edward Bernard Barrett The manly part is to do with might and main what you can. Eddie is one of our neatest dressers. He spends his after school hours working in the Endicott Johnson Shoe Store in Leominster. Eddie may be seen patrolling the cafeteria every lunch period for some unknown reason; maybe he intends to be a policeman. Victor Phillip Bean A goodly share of laughter in his eyes. Victor may appear in school but any day he wculd rather be out in the open to do as he pleases, for he is the restless, raring-to-go type. Victor is a happy fellow who never lets anything got him down. One sport which he best enjoys is hockey, and he can put up a good fight to the finish. Cynthia Ellen Baimas Given to hospitality. Cynthia has proved herself to be a very valuable member of her class. She has played the piano for the school orchestra since she entered high school. She has also rated high scholastically and is an all around good student. Hockey, Basketball, French Club 2, Glee Club 2, 3, Orchestra 2, 3, 4, Chairman Junior-Senior Reception Committee 3, Latin Club, Round Table, Write-up Committee 4. Dorothy Sophia Ballantine The mildest manners and the gentlest heart. Dotty's eyes are like a kindled flame- so sparkling and alive, yet so warm and tender. Tt has been said that her whole personality is expressed in her eyes. This future nursery-school teacher is active in F. H. S. clubs and is also the very able president of a Christian Endeavor Society Dramatic Club, Glee Club 2, 3, 4, French Club, History Club 3, Debating Club 3, 4, Hockey, Basket- ball, Write-up Committee 4. Lauretta Claire Basque Nobility is the only one virtue. Here's a swell girl and twice as good a dancer. Lauretta is a very lively member of the senior class, who is always ready for a good time. She has her serious moments though, for she works every other week for Miss Matson in the typewriting room. Glee Club 2, Volleyball 2, 3, Basketball 2, 3, 4, Dramatic Club 3, 4. Eleanor Elizabeth Beard She will sing the savageness out of a bear. Eleanor is a very pert maid who makes all people aware of her presence. She enjoys playing basketball and loves to swim, though her diving could be improved. She participates in dramatics and enters the prize speaking contest every year. Suzy also sings and dances well.
