Armas Onni Luoma The strong and sound mind is the mind that can embrace equally great things and small. Armas is a quiet but progressive lad and is Mr. Hubbard's able assist- ant. Not many boys are capable of doing this kind of double duty, so Armas can be accredited as being one of our exceptional scholars. Albert Joseph Boudreau Never thought or dream or jaltering Marred the promise of his youth. His actions outside of school are quiet. In school, his knowledge is shown by the correct answers he gives to the teachers' questions. He likes all sports and competes in them whenever an opportunity presents itself. Norma Janet Richardson Her eyes as stars of twilight fair. Like sunlight too, her golden hair. Norma is our angelic, blue-eyed, golden-haired sweetheart. She is a natural-born, intelligent pupil. Norma never takes school work seri- ously, but she manages to have it prepared at the right moment. She spends most of her leisure time at the movies. Dramatic Club 2, 3 Thanksgiving Dance Committee 4 Elsie Eve Johnson Eternal sunshine settles on her head. Although Elsie is rather quiet, she is fun-loving and has won many friends with her kind nature. She has taken part in many school sports, in all of which she has played well. Volleyball 2 Basketball, Hockey 2, 3 Hervey Roland Brisson Patience achieves more than force. Hervey is a student in the com- mercial course. He is of the quieter type. Although he upheld our worthy class in the relay, he did not parti- cipate in many school activities. Relay Team 3 Lauri Leo Kangas Fearlessly he skims along; His hope is high and his limbs are strong. Lauri is a highly athletic lad who swings along with a suoreme grace of carriage. He excels in many sports, but principally basketball. In this, he has gained an enviable repu- tation in high school sport circles. Good in his studies as well, Lauri is well liked by all the pupils. Basketball 2, 3, 4 Constance Eloise Barker To know her is to love her. Connie is one who likes the busi- ness side of life. Often during the day we see her trotting up and down stairs with slips of paper in her hand. Connie kept that school girl figure by marshaling on the fourth floor. She has fancy for blonds, Hockev 2 Dramatic Club 2, 3 Junior Dance Committee Marshal Red and Gray Board 3, 4 Virginia Brunt Great minds, like heaven, are pleased in doing good. Ginny won first place in the Prize Speaking contest in her Sophomore year, but she does not need her plat- form eloquence to win friends. Enough said. Stuart Lincoln Parker Ring in the iiilijiir man! To those who know him, Stuart is an all around fine chap. At pre- sent he is very much interested in electricity and as he shows quite an aptitude for that work, we know he will be successful. Though rather quiet in school, he is less so outside. Dramatic Club Raymond Julian Ferris A rihui whose very silence is impressive . Ray is one of the quieter boys of our class whose presence is felt, if not heard. He is a rare good fel- low and under his peaceful de- meanor, no doubt, lurks a keen sense of appreciation for athletics and read- ing. Girls.' We don't know, but you never can tell ! Charles Francis Connors Much hits he read and much more has he seen. Francis Connors is quite a stu- dent, particularly in History, though he shines in English as well. He is a great lover of the drama and has acted in many plays at school. One of his ambitions is to rival Barry- more. Football, Glee Club, Dramatic Club, Open Meeting 2, 3, 4 Class Color Committee 3 Round Table Albert Peter Miller He was like a cock uho thought the sun had risen to hear him crow. His aggressiveness and ego will carry him a long way. When he wants a thing, he goes after it like a beagle after a rabbit. If Albert doesn't get it, it won't be his fault. Dramatic Club, Orchestra 2, 3, 4 Senior Play Ticket Committee 3 Hazel Irene Stevenson She has a voice of gladness, and a smile, And eloquence of beauty. Hazel is the owner of an irrepres- sible good humor. Her contagious laugh identifies her at the movies, where she is often found. She sets a fast pace in her studies, as well as on horseback. Basketball 2 Volleyball 2, 3 Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4 Class Flower Committee 3 Red and Gray Board 3, 4 Round Table French Club 4 Eleanor Carrie Sammet Sweet, good, lovable, and true. This fair-haired damsel is very prominent in the activities of our class. She is a loyal supporter of our school sports and a faithful con- tender on the girls' basketball, hockey, and volleyball teams. But she doesn't let athletics get in the way of studying, for she keeps well up in her studies. Hockey, Volleyball 2, 3 Basketball 2, 3, 4 Mildred Slattery Ne'er did Grecian chisel trace A nymph, a Naiad, or a Grace, Of finer form or fairer face. Mildred is one of our pretty misses who always have a neat appearance. Her cheerful smile wins her many friends. Milly enjoys a sensible joke and a peal of laughter is everlast- ingly bursting forth from any corner where she may be. Dramatic Club 2, 3; Secretary, Dramatic Club 4 Prize Speaking Contest Winner 3 Marshal pAinice Louise Flight A maiden fair, beloved by all. This blue-eyed damsel is a very important member of our class. Eunice is a fine athlete and is a great asset to the girls' hockey, bas- ketball, and volleyball teams. Be- sides being a fine athlete, she is a talented dancer and when she gradu- ates she intends to further her work in this art. Arthur Edwin Talviainen The deed ptoies the man. Size does ni)t seem to handicap Flash when he plays basketball, for he holds his own with the best of them. He is quite adept in the art of swimming as his summer months are spent at a local swim- ming pool. He was the manager of our Junior relay team. Elias Samuel Halttunen Brevity is the soul oj wit. Elias, though one of the shyest boys in the class, especially when confronted by the opposite sex, is really a glib conversationalist and humorist when one gets acquainted with him. In all his classes, Elias manages to create a spirit of good feeling and humor through his own efforts and antics. Edmond Mailloux He is always in such perfect humor. Was he full of fun? Boy! When he started things, there was a rum- pus. Eddie also posted signs for the different theatres and had an usher's job at Shea's. Mr. Chalmers was quite fond of Eddie and often called him in for an interview. Walter Walfred Kandelin For some are horn to live and do great deeds. Very little has been heard from Walter during the past four years. He is cheerful and friendly to all those who have the good fortune to know him. He is interested in al- most ever)' sport, and is quite profi- cient in basketball, football, and base- ball. Erma Rachel Anderson The force of her own merit makes her way. Erma never makes herself conspicu- ous or loud. She loves to laugh — but never at the wrong time. She has a well controlled temper, a pleas- ant disposition, and is sympathetic and friendly towards all. One of her favorite winter diversions is skating. Basketball 2 Hockev, Volleyball 2, 3, 4 Chairman, Senior Evening Dance Committee Vera Mae Jackson Her character is as sweet As she's graceful on her feet. Vera, who is always cheerful and ready to help a friend, is good in all sports, especially volleyball. She is fond of dancing and swimming which occupy a great deal of her spare time. Hockey 2 Volleyball 2, 3 Basketball 2, 3, 4 Glee Club 3 Holy City Pop Concert 3 Class Ring Committee 4 Beatrice Leah Ferguson Talented and versed in the gentle arts. Bea is a girl of many achieve- ments. 'We have all seen her fine art work in various editions of the Red and Gray, but how many of us kniiw she is equally as capable in music' Bea is also good in many sports and is popular with everyone. Volleyball 2, 3 Basketball, Hockey 2, 3, 4 Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4 Red and Gray Board 3, 4 Marshal 4 Treasurer, Debating Club 4 Helen Marie Laurila Honest endeavor is -always sure of reward. Helen is a good student and suc- ceeds in everything she undertakes. She is not only interested in her studies, but she enjoys many sports.
