Sinai Joseph Bordeleau Tke less people speak of their greatness The more we think of it. Sinai excelled in French, winning first prize in second year French during his Junior year. Quiet and unassuming, he didn't take part in many school activities, but was a diligent student. French Club 4 Russell George Menard He is witty, he is wise, He's a terror for his size. Good old Rusty, though not so big as many of us, is always there with the goods. He doesn't speak very frequently in his classes, yet as often as he dares, he expresses him- self admirably. We sometimes won- der about his aim in life. Richard Berger His hark is worse than his bite. Richard has been blessed with the gift of being able to explain a happening or situation so dramati- cally that one cannot help admiring his genius. His secret is the use of physical rather than oratorical powers. You should see him play basketball and then explain the scor- ing plays afterwards. Relay Team 3 Andrew Raymond He that respects himself is safe from others, He wears a coat of mail that none can pierce. Andrew has an inclination towards solitude, which is seldom broken by any effort on his part. He avoided most school activities and spent a great deal of his time reading, his favorite hobby. Lucille Edna Morse Her eyes are large and full of light. And on her lips there plays a smile. Although Lucille is inclined to be rather quiet, a perpetual twinkle in her eyes suggests a merry heart. She is an ardent participant of win- ter sports, especially skating. Hockey 2 Dramatic Club 3, 4 Louise Alice Therrien A quiet, gentle little elf Who thinks of others before herself. Louise is one of the quieter mem- bers of our class. She has a very kindly disposition which shows it- self on many occasions and has helped her to gain many friends. Margaret Rebecca Gettens Her angel face shone bright. And made a sunshine in a shady place. Margaret is our friend from Ash- burnham. 'We think she is sweet with her light complexion and her dainty ways. Janet Flagg Mulqueeney She nobly earns whatever crow n she wears. Janet can talk; she has shown us that. She is the president of oui Dramatic Club and she surely proved herself worthy of that office. Her dramatic ability is great and any of our plays would seem lost without Janet. Her favorite sport is swim- ming and at that she's an expert. Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4 Open Meeting 2, 3, 4 Marshal ; Round Table Write-up Committee 4 21

Olavi Soini Lystila A scholar and a ripe and good one. Olavi is a rather unassuming chap. He is one of that large crew of marshals who lost their jobs when Rome burned — he didn't even get a job holding doors. He is an honor student and a member of the Regu- lar Fellows league. Marshal Write-up Committee, Councillor 4 Ernest Edward Illig For he is a jolly good fellow. We have not yet been able to discover how Ernie manages to get his homework done, for when he is not in school, he is usually in his Ford V-8. He has a fondness for riding up and down Main Street. But all fooling aside, Ernie is a earn- est student and we hope he will do as well out of school as he has done in it. Tennis 2, 3 Senior Thanksgiving Dance Committee Albert Thayer Stone He Cometh unto you with a tale which holdeth children from their play and old men from their chimney corners. Al is known to his intimate friends as a fiend for dramatics, both coach- ing and acting. Occasionally he indulges in tricks and feats of magic which would astound even Houdini. He has also shown a great deal of knowledge of chemistry and elec- tricity. Dramatic Club 4 Arthur Omer Roberge The king of jesters am I. Arthur, a tall, dark lad in our class, is frequently engaged in vari- ous school activities. He loves a joke and a good time and his pre- sence has enlivened more than one gathering. Arthur, however, takes time for studying, so he really is serious, sometimes. Football 2, 3, 4 Track, Relay 3, 4 Junior-Senior Reception 3 Dramatic Club 4 1 Dorothy Frances Chesbrough Her life has many a hope and aim, Duties enough, and little cares. Dorothy not only does all her duties conscientiously but enjoys do- ing them as well. The Girl Scouts and outdoor sports take up much of her time. Her sincerity and thoughtfulness are two qualities by which most of us have benefited. Hockey, Basketball 2, 3 Boulder Joke Committee 4 Eunice Ruth Caplan Persuasion tips her tongue when- ever she talks. Eunice is one of the star members of the Girls' Debating Club. Her chief ambition was to beat the boys at the big debate, but she had to de- cline the opportunity because of lack of time. She is one of the three girls taking Physics. Basketball, Volleyball 2 Dramatic Club 2, 4 Debating Club 3, 4 French Club 4 Motto Committee Junior-Senior Reception Committee Write-up Committee Round Table Iva Gladys Adams As quiet as the water that flows over the rocks. Iva is a serious but fun-loving girl. She is always willing to help m any task. She is a good student, kind and thoughtful in everything she does. She loves good times and always is ready to search for them. Therefore, Iva is popular among her classmates. Hockey 2, 3 Basketball 2, 4 Myrtle Louise Schlott Of quiet and studious aspect is she. Myrtle, whose sweet and friendly nature has won her many friends, is interested in sports. She also spends profitable time studying. Her favorite pastime is dancing. l5 0 JLD n Ji) 5 Risto Michael Heikkinen Pleasure has been the business of my lije. Risto is one of those who believe in making themselves heard as well as seen. He always seems to be in good humor and is one of the best jokers in the school ; his pranks are well known to most of us. He works during his spare time at his brother's drug store. Dramatic Club 2, 3 Joseph Arthur Caron Still waters run deep. Arthur is a quiet, capable boy who is studiously inclined as may be seen by the constant repetition of his name on the Honor Roll. Al- though he isn't engaged in any school activities, he is prominent in outside activities, especially those of his club and his church. Daisto Ensio Luokkala So shall a prudent tnan do good work With bountiful gifts. Daisto walks about the school with an air of dignity and reserve. And why shouldn't he, for he pos- sesses a matured, methodical mind and goes about his work in a thor- ough manner with no excess of thought or motion. Ring Committee 4 Herbert Gustave Laakso The rule of my life is to make busi- ness a pleasure, and pleasure a business. Herb is a fast man, not only when he's on the track, but also when he's ofT. He is popular with the gals as you can see when you glance at the Senior Notable list, or by his company. Basketball 2, 3, 4 Track 2, 3, 4 Captain, Relay 3, 4 Dramatic Club 3 Junior Christmas Dance Committee 3 Marjorie Ann Dempsey Like a bit of sunshine on a cloudy day, She u ill quickly shoo all your blues away. Marjie always greets us with a charming smile. One of our best pianists, she has often delighted us with selections, especially in gym! She intends to study at the Boston Conservatory of Music. Basketball 2 Dramatic Club 2 Class Dues Committee 3 Orchestra 4 Barbara Anne Hayes A rarer fiou er never grew. Barbie is a favorite with every- one, teachers and pupils alike. She surprised us all by eloping during the year and now she may be ad- dressed properly as Mrs. Leonard Johnson. You have our best wishes. Barbie, for perfect happiness always. Hockey, Basketball, Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4 French Club 4 Bertha Irene Seppala Like ancient tnaids. divinely formed. Bertha is a tall and fair maiden who, because of looks as well as for her congenial self, has made a host of friends. She is a student in the commercial course and someday she will probably be an excellent secretary'. Basketball 2 Dramatic Club 4 Hester Lois Hyatt Some like tvork; some like fun. I'm for both. Hester is at times serious minded, especially when her nimble fingers are flying over the keys of the type- writer doing some history for Miss Gifford. Her idea of a humorous situation centers in a practical joke. Some day we may hear of Hester as a private secretary for a large concern. French Club 2 Marshal Dramatic Club 3, 4 22
