Arthur Oscar Sivula He is the stuff that stands for generations. Arthur is a competent and indus- trious fellow who takes his studies quite seriously. His work has not been unrewarded as his name has been consistently inscribed on the Honor Roll. He is very fond of the great out-doors and camps at Wy- man's every summer. Dramatic Club, Glee Club 3 Barbara Madelene Romano Her sunny temper gilds the edge of life's black cloud. Barbara's friendship is like ster- ling. Although she is very quiet and remote, we never see her without a friend. Barbara works hard so she may attain a high standard in school work. This often keeps her from entering all the activities at school. Basketball, Hockey 2 Dramatic Club 4 Bernard Whittemore A man he serried of cheerful yester- days and confident tomorrows. Bernie has a wonderful leg devel- opment from strolling so much on Main Street, a pastime which con- stitutes his daily exercise. His les- sons never seem to worry him, but he manages to draw satisfactory marks. He is an eager participant in all sports. Hester Parker Enthusiasm is the life of my soul. Hester has shone in all sports. She has a wicked aim with a basket- ball, which has helped her teams to great success. She is not particu- larly interested in studies, but has managed to more than hold her own. Besides basketball, dancing and swim- ming are her favorite sports. Volleyball, 2, 3 Hockey, Basketball, Referee 2, 3, 4 Dramatic Club 3 Waldo Earnest Safford He is always in such perfect humor. One of Waldo's chief interests is sport. He is a member of one of the Y. M. C. A. basketball teams and we have heard that he is also an excellent hockey player. Waldo is a rather quiet looking chap, but Miss Haskins wishes his actions coincided with his appearance. p Barbara Louise Pearson Her mild expression spoke a mind In duty firm, composed, resigned. Barb is one of those persons who try always to please others regard- less of the sacrifice to herself. She seems to find plenty of time to enjoy herself though and is often seen at Rainbow dances. George Robert Weldon He hath no power who hath not power to use. Although he did not participate in school sports, Weldy is an excel- lent athlete. His favorite occupa- tion is playing hockey for Brick Mill. He is not especially interested in his lessons, but he usually has the an- swers when called for. Football Squad B 2 91 Ruth Lilyan Sulkin Intermingled mirth and earnestness. Ruth's impulsiveness is entertain- ing. She is always happy to join in any enterprise that will result in a jolly time. Thanks to her pleasing personality, it most assuredly is a jolly time. Swimming is the pastime of which she is most fond. French Club 2 Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey 2, 3 Dramatic Club 2, 3, 4 16

Howard Henry Andrews He came in from ihe country. Although Howie plays in the orch- estra, he is not adverse to letting the others play while he guides the fair damsels about the dance floor. As Howie hails from the top of Pearl Hill his favorite song is, I'm way up heyah, she's way down theyah. Senior Thanksgiving Dance Committee Orchestra, Band 2, 3, 4 Raymond Joseph Beaulieu He tried the luxury of being good. Ray, with his winning personality and debonair ways, is one of the best liked boys in our class. He is al- ways ready for fun and is a good sport. Glee Club, French Club 4 Richard Thomas Williams A youth sincere and true. Richard, one of our football men, seems to be satisfied with a mild life. He finds much enjoyment in sports and is often seen down at the Y participating in an exciting basket- bail game. Football 4 Beulah Priscilla Mitchell She doeth all things well. Watertown's loss was Fitchburg's gain when Beulah joined us in our Junior year. Beulah is an excel- lent student and is a pas t master of 'Vergil. How we envied her! Basketball, Dramatic Club 3, 4 French Club, Boulder Write-up Committee, Round Table 4 Yolanda Eleanor Chivilo Her quiet nature seemed to he Tuned to each season's harmony. Yolanda is one of those persons who are endowed with that all too rare power of listening. She is ever alert for any bit of humor and a perpe- tual twinkle in her eyes suggests some mischief which, however, we have yet to see demonstrated. Hockey 2 Volleyball 2, 3 Glee Club 3 Hilkka Mary Heikkila Her soft voice, her alluring charms have won her many friends. Hilkka, always cheerful and friend- ly, is a good and dependable stu- dent, working in the office every other week. She takes part in school sports and has a fondness for skat- ing and dancing. French Club 2 Hockey, Basketball 2, 3 Volleyball, Dramatic Club, Councillor 3 Ollie Kullervo Rasanen There are smiles — Ollie is, as we have observed, a quiet sort of fellow except in Chem- istry. He is limited in his activi- ties outside of school though he is a real all around fellow. Unfortu- nately he fades back in the gallery of school activities. Irma Gertrude Bovellan She walks in beauty like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies. Irma, one of the most popular members of our class, is a good stu- dent, a participant in school sports, and an excellent swimmer. Dancing is a favorite pastime with her. Aubrey Edgar Hastings Titles of honor add not to his worth Who is himselj an honor to his titles. Aubrey is the sort of fellow one would like to know better. He has a wide and varied range of knowl- edge which often shows itself in his class work. If you want an interest- ing discussion on anything from sports to religion, go to Aubrey. He keeps in fine physical condition by basketball and gym work. Junior Reception Junior Dance Councillor Joseph Tamulonis The world belongs to the energetic. Joe is a tall, friendly, and unas- suming lad, whose only regret is that he hasn't enough time for his book- keeping. He was a supporter of our relay team last year. Relay 3 James Bernard Kalagher He had the warmth of genial courtesy, The calm of self-reliance. Jimmy is a favorite of many of the boys around school. He has a great love for athletics, and although his light weight is a handicap, he was a star on the football team. Jim doesn't say much, but his sunny disposition speaks for him. Football 2, 3, 4 Track 3, 4 Chester Richard Johnson A silent man, hut one in whom the world rejoices. Chester, or rather Chet, is a quiet lad, but nevertheless, he is very popu- lar with everyone. You should hear the girls rave about his mastery of the dance. Besides that achieve- ment, Chet is also good in the class- room. Red and Gray Board 3, 4 Glee Club 4 Lily Marie Kempi Street mercy is nobility's true badge. Lily has courage which, no doubt, will carry her far in the future. She is another one who travels a long way to secure an education and her good marks show that she studies. Basketball, Dramatic Club 2 Laura Edith Vincent She has a head to contrive, a heart to resolve, and a hand to execute. Here is another member of our class who travels a long way to her classes each day. Because of this she has a right to take considerable satisfaction in her good attendance and record. Basketball, Volleyball 2 Glee Club 3 Linda Eloise Bingham She was a friend indeed. Linda is forced to come a long distance every day to school. To be more specific, she comes from the heights of Pearl Hill. She is taking the general course. She is also one of those girls about whom, or from whom you hear very little. Glee Club 4 Anita Margaret Driscoll Laughter and I are the best of friends. Anita is always in a happy mood and willing to do some mischievous act. She is sports minded and be- sides sitting on the sidelines watch- ing a game, she often participates. Although Anita hasn't fully decided what to do after graduation, she is everlastingly building castles in the air.
