lice' Princzkfals Message LOUIS CAOUETTE E vi, NN'ls Today with the accent on the conservation of our natural resources, water, fresh air, etc., I feel that too many of our young people are not giving enough thought to the conservation and development of their own great- est asset-brainpower. Within the past few years we have finally recognized that the talent of each generation is indeed a great natural resource every bit as important as oil, coal, water, or gas. We are aware that it is shameful to waste our natural assets, and we now have various programs designed to conserve and to develop them, including brainpower. Failure to make full use of your talent is wasteful. Progress and our nation's future de- pends upon each generation making full use of its capabilities. As the time for graduation draws near, let me be a little more personal. What have you done, what are you doing, or what are you planning to do to develop your greatest possession? Formal education is but one of many tools that may be used to activate this latent power. You owe it to yourself to develop this personal asset to its full potential. Your future rides on it. Success or failure in future endeavors will depend largely on how well you are equipped to meet the many challenges about to come your way. Using education as a key to unlock this vast storehouse of power, you will soon discover that it will continue to pay dividends for a lifetime. Knowledge is something that cannot be lost, taken, destroyed, or squandered. It can lie dormant for years and be recalled for instant use to meet a challenge. Knowledge is power.
