I COMM DI G OFFICER ROGER D. GRADY CDR USN I Z 1 , likog- xg ji Commander Roger D. GRADY was graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio in 111113 1956 and commissioned from Officer Candidate School in October 1956. Following comm1s- sioning, Commander GRADY was assigned as Engineer Officer of USS MERGANSER QMHCI- 47j. In 1958 he was Uansferred to the USS I-IAVER QPCE-877j as Executive Officer. In Aprll 1959 he was assigned as Executive Officer of the Oceangraphic Research Station, Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico. He returned to sea duty in May 1961 as First LT of USS THUBAN QAKA-19j. In May 196S he reported to the USS INGERSOLL fDD-6521 serving as Weapons Officer and later as Opera1110I1S ff O icer. In May 1966 he was assi gne d to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations fOPNAVj in Washington, D. C . Following his Washington tour, in june 1968, C o mm a nd e r GRADY reported as Executive Officer of USS NEWMAN K. PERRY QDD-8830. In November 1969 he was assi gne d to the Staff of Commander Hunter Killer Forces, Atlantic Fleet, as head of the Tactical Analys1S Center. Prior to coming to FISKE he was a student at the Naval War college, Newport, R-L I-le took command of FISKE in August 1972. Y
