Smith was elected superintendent oftheF1sk-Bombauer Schools. Prior to this time he was classroom teacher in Calvin School, principal of Zalma High Schoolg superin- tendent of Zalma, Delta, Herrick, Illinois, Neely- vllle Schools. During his tenure at F-RHS the gymnas1um,home economics, shop, and vocational agriculture bulld- ing was constructed,lunchroomsbuilt and improved, Bombauer gym improved, old Fisk gym made into classrooms, heating system improved, and class- rooms built for Junior High students.
