MUSICAL THOUGHTS MuSiC is the universal language of mankind. -Longfel low- There's music in the sighing of a reedg There's music in the gushing of a rillg There's music in all things, if men had ears Their earth is but an echo of the spheres. -Byron- Music is in all growing thingsg And underneath the silky wings Of smallest insects there is stirred A pulse of air that must be heardg Earth's silence lives and throbs and sings. -Lathrop- God is its author, and not many he laid The keynote of all harmoniesg V he planned Allgperfect combinations, ' and he made Us so that We could understand. - ' -J.
