Gzrl s Chorus The Glrls Chorus started the year wlth elghteen members W elected the followlng offlcers Presldent Coena Bla1r VICE Presldent Barbara Albm Secretary Treasurer L1nda Nelson Reporter Katy F urtney We partlclpated 1n the operetta Champalgn County Festlval the Chrlstmas program and an assembly for the hlgh school Z? ff-ES M zxed Chorus The Mlxed Chorus started out the year wlth forty n1ne members Our offlcers were elected at the flrst meetlng They were Presl dent An1ta Llestman V109 Presldent Davld Gossard Secretary Kay Jones Treasurer Ehzabeth Teuscher Student Councll Representa t1ve V1v1an Ingold and Reporter Eleanor Relnhart We gave our flrst pubhc perfol mance at the Umon Thanksgwmg plogram Shortly after that we started work on The Chrlstmas Story a Jomt program wlth the band whlch was glven on December 12 19.53 After Chrlstmas vacatlon we started vsork on our operetta The Gypsy Rover Th1S was g1ven ln late February and was a b1g suc cess We had several people go to contest th1s year They were Coena Blau' L1nda Claudm Joyce Lammle L1nda Nelson James D1xon Curtls Brock Davld Gossard, and Lester Hadler All of them d1d a f1ne Job but we Want to commend Davld Gossard for recelvmg a Su perlor ratlng and golng on to state contest We plan to f1I11Sh out the 53 54 school year by gomg to Festlval uh1ch W1ll be held at Champalgn ln Aprll '! ., f . .
