PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS The Fisher Junior College Class of 1986 is the first graduating class in my tenure as Presi- dent of the College. Therefore, I take special pleasure in having an opportunity to write this yearbook address. The yearbook provides graphic memories of your college years: memories of growth experiences, of pleasant times, and of op- portunities taken. Already, as I consider the activities in which I have been involved with the students of this class, I am impressed by your diverse energies and com- mitments: social events, such as a sunny afternoon in Gloucester with everybody eating lobster and enjoying the music of a steel band; Phi Theta Kappa induction ceremonies with poised students deliver- ing impressive speeches-, meetings of the Class Of- ficers and of the College organizations with stu- dents demonstrating leadership skills; and the kick off of the Fisher football team ' s season with games against Lasell Junior College and Emerson College. Memories of these events and of students working in the Library and greeting me in the hall- ways have made this year a stimulating one for me. The energies, interests, and abilities I have seen in the Class of 1986 convince me that you young women will make significant contributions to soci- ety. I am pleased to have been a part of the develop- ment of such fine human beings as I have seen during this past year. I wish all of you well and invite you to keep us informed of your future activities. 2
