( a ••if ' And of course, as the way of life changed, so did Fisher, keeping up with all of the new changes and always updating equipment as well as the other aspects in- corporated in a college. In 1903, the de- mand for skilled typists was incredible, as the typewriter was the business machine of the future. Today, after 80 years, the com- puter is the business machine of the future, and of course Fisher offers strong pro- grams in this field, and will offer it as a major in the very near future. Today at Fisher, one will find it to be a sound institution providing us with the best possible education a junior college has to offer. In the 80 years that Fisher has been in existence, many of its own goals have been achieved. Fisher has maintained and preserved the Beacon Street mansion to the same state as when it was purchased. Fisher is also proud of its accomplishments in establishing 34 extensions for Continuing Education. The Beacon Street mansion now is solely utilized as a women ' s college, while the extensions are co-educational. Both are capable of providing men and women of all ages with certificates and degrees to make it in the competitive business world of today. After all, 80 years of experience is behind our education.

It ' s 19H3 here at Fisher Junior College, and we the Class of 19H3, mark its 80th Anniversary. In 1903, Fisher Junior College was founded, and opened its doors to young men and women eager to establish an edu- cational background. Being the turn of the century, the business world was just begin- ning and young people were anxious to be a part of it. For many, this meant a change of life, with a move from the serenity of the country to the last-paced life of the city. Knowing this Vv-as a hard adjustment, Fish- er Junior College was there to provide con- fidence and pride, as well as to help to- wards the achievements of their goals. Throughout the past HO years. Fisher ' s name has been tested on the basis ot a quality institution because ol the numerous hardships that past generations encoun- tered; the war. depression, and social change. These all had a great impact on everythmg encompassed in the business world. Even though these problems arose. Fisher stood behind its commitment to provide a solid education for its students. The original house in Somerville. Massa- chusetts, where Fisher Junior College got its beginning in 1903.
