The purpose of this organization is to assist the administration in help- ing to improve the school life of the students by discussing the suggestions made and attempting to solve the problems of everyone. Regular meetings are held at least once a month where each member can feel free to express any type of problem in reference to school affairs and the board acts upon them. Excellent experience is gained as considerable responsibility is given to each member throughout the year. MEMORIES It really was two years ago That Fisher School we entered; But it seems to each such a very short time That here our learning ' s centered. We struggled along with typing and I it, Till the faculty finally took pity; ye hod a terrific Hallowe ' en dance, Not without a witch and black kitty. In typing our speed was increasing, And, happily, errors were fewer; Our reward was a Christmas vacation, When faith in old Santa grew truer. We weathered the hazards of winter, And managed each morning to get here; We invited our beaus to a Valentine Dance, Our first formal of the new year. Our social graces were tested By a mother or female relation; The cookery specialist speaker Received a deserving ovation. As we reached the end of the first stretch, Came the biggest night of all; We traipsed without dates to the Gold Room, For the long-awaited Junior Ball. After working like dogs all summer, Or else taking life at ease, We mournfully trudged to Beacon Street Hoping Mr. S ' d lost the keys. They told us we ' d better practice m,ore, And improve our typing speed; In law we studied assets rare, And learned the tricks of a deed. We got a preview of Christmas cheer, At our well-attended ho p; And around her parents many a girl Was heard a hint to drop. There was a sad side to that fortnight vacat ion For we knew what would greet our return; For midyears we studied, our eyesight grew dim, But there was just too much to learn. The Heart Fund called for volunteers, To help out at the Garden ' s Ice Show; The Globetrotters we saw from Seventh Heaven, And then trudged home through blinding snow. The school was a scene of activity- Most every girl ' s mother was there; They enjoyed the good entertainment, And ate the scrumptious fare. The final week started off with a bang — Class Day — the first event. And when we thought of bidding good-bye, Our little black hearts were rent. We saved ourselves for the gala night, The food was served in style; We heard the will and prophecy As we reached our final mile. The school turned out in ful I regalia, For the height of the social year; The band was swel l , the night was gay, A farewell to friends so dear. We never thought we ' d see the day, When we ' d enter the business field; But when June 8 fin ' lly did arrive, We were sorry to lose our Shield. G. Dowgialo E.
