1949-50 At last came the day for the class of ' 50 to return to Fisher to start out on the second and final year of its school career. To start the year, the class elected the following officers: President Nancy Nuttall Vice-President .... ..JThelma Hanson Secretary Janet McKeown Treasurer Jo Ann Hewev Sororities got to work after a long summer ' s rest and had two social events. One was a Halloween Pumpkin Ball, sponsored by Alpha Iota Sorority. Miss Claire Viden, President of Alpha Iota, and Mr. Sanford crowned Gwen Davies and her escort Queen and King. Theta Alpha Chi sponsored a lovely Fashion Show in which sorority members participated as models. The latest fashions were shown to great advantage by the very attractive models. In November, the school held an informal dance at the Hotel Sheraton. A huge crowd attended and everyone had a wonderful time. December once more brought the Christmas Pageant, this time performed at John Hancock Hall. It certainly attracted many people and was a superb creation. The girls then left for home on their Christmas vacation. Once again Sororities vied to get the Juniors into their groups. Initiations were held and everyone wished she could have had marks high enough to allow her to join. Fisher gave a formal dance at the Parker House, following a smash success by the Dramatic Club. The Club acted in the very famous and entertaining Our Hearts Were Young and Gay, starring Ida Cristaldi and Margie McNeil. The play was excellent and the fellows from Fisher and Emerson added greatly to the cast. The Seniors now entertained their mothers at the Senior Mothers ' Tea. Re- freshments were wonderful, especially Mr. Myron ' s new punch formula. As usual, the Glee Club sang beautifully and well. At last, Senior Week arrived. With lumps in their throats at the thoughts of leaving Fisher, the girls had their banquet at the Hotel Vendome, Class Day at the Hatch Memorial Shell, the Senior Prom at the Hotel Somerset, a cruise on the Boston Belle, and finally graduation at John Hancock Hall. Seniors put away their worn books, bid fond but sad adieu to their favorite teachers, and they left the school to which they had become so attached. Though work in business was uppermost in the seniors ' minds, they all vowed to return again and often to Fisher — where wonderful memories were gained by all.

Class History . . . On a warm day in September of the year 1948, there entered the Fisher School a group of some two hundred young and equally timid ladies, henceforth the class of 1950, about to embark on the road to BUSINESS. Along with them, they brought high hopes of thoroughly enjoying their two years ' stay at Fisher. As they slowly got acquainted and paired off with new-found friends, they learned from the current seniors all about life at Fisher. The faculty and adminis- tration explained about Sororities, Glee Club, Dramatic Club, and Fisher Flashes. Dorm girls became fast friends with each other, and things settled down at last. One of the most important events for the class of ' 50 was the election of officers. After the votes were counted, the following were chosen leaders of their class for 1948-49: President Nancy Nuttall Vice-President Janet McKeown Secretary Thayer Anastos Treasurer Phyllis Robery Following the election of officers came the class of ' 50 ' s first Fisher Formal held at the Hotel Statler. Everyone truly thought it an evening to remember. Next on the list was the annual Christmas Pageant, a beautiful performance conducted by the Dramatic Club and Glee Club. After the performance, classes adjourned for the two weeks ' Christmas vacation. Back again to work, the girls were now beginning to wonder about Sororities and whether or not they could possibly be eligible. After marks came out, with much ceremony each Sorority — Alpha Iota and Theta Alpha Chi — conducted pledge services and initiations. Being honorary Sororities, the girls were doubly thrilled to be pledged to join. Now in succession came a formal dance at the Parker House and the Big Event — Junior Week. The class of ' 50 worked hard on an assembly, a Mothers ' Tea, and the Junior Prom. All the girls looked beautiful with their handsome escorts as they waltzed in the beautiful gold and ivory ballroom at Fisher. In April, the class had Fathers ' Night for all the dads. Refreshments were served, and an excellent speaker entertained everyone ' s dad. The annual School Event was a night at the Boston Pops in Symphony Hall. With the very best of seats, the Fisher girls sipped lemonade while they thorough- ly enjoyed the wonderful Pops music. At long last came time for summer vacations. Before leaving for homes all over the map, the juniors put on a Class Day show in the Hatch Memorial Shell. To the theme of Fisher Circus ' Daze ' the girls cavorted about, thoroughly enjoying themselves. They finally left for home, tired, happy, and looking forward to their second year — as seniors.
