Class History . . . On a warm day in September of the year 1948, there entered the Fisher School a group of some two hundred young and equally timid ladies, henceforth the class of 1950, about to embark on the road to BUSINESS. Along with them, they brought high hopes of thoroughly enjoying their two years ' stay at Fisher. As they slowly got acquainted and paired off with new-found friends, they learned from the current seniors all about life at Fisher. The faculty and adminis- tration explained about Sororities, Glee Club, Dramatic Club, and Fisher Flashes. Dorm girls became fast friends with each other, and things settled down at last. One of the most important events for the class of ' 50 was the election of officers. After the votes were counted, the following were chosen leaders of their class for 1948-49: President Nancy Nuttall Vice-President Janet McKeown Secretary Thayer Anastos Treasurer Phyllis Robery Following the election of officers came the class of ' 50 ' s first Fisher Formal held at the Hotel Statler. Everyone truly thought it an evening to remember. Next on the list was the annual Christmas Pageant, a beautiful performance conducted by the Dramatic Club and Glee Club. After the performance, classes adjourned for the two weeks ' Christmas vacation. Back again to work, the girls were now beginning to wonder about Sororities and whether or not they could possibly be eligible. After marks came out, with much ceremony each Sorority — Alpha Iota and Theta Alpha Chi — conducted pledge services and initiations. Being honorary Sororities, the girls were doubly thrilled to be pledged to join. Now in succession came a formal dance at the Parker House and the Big Event — Junior Week. The class of ' 50 worked hard on an assembly, a Mothers ' Tea, and the Junior Prom. All the girls looked beautiful with their handsome escorts as they waltzed in the beautiful gold and ivory ballroom at Fisher. In April, the class had Fathers ' Night for all the dads. Refreshments were served, and an excellent speaker entertained everyone ' s dad. The annual School Event was a night at the Boston Pops in Symphony Hall. With the very best of seats, the Fisher girls sipped lemonade while they thorough- ly enjoyed the wonderful Pops music. At long last came time for summer vacations. Before leaving for homes all over the map, the juniors put on a Class Day show in the Hatch Memorial Shell. To the theme of Fisher Circus ' Daze ' the girls cavorted about, thoroughly enjoying themselves. They finally left for home, tired, happy, and looking forward to their second year — as seniors.
