Changes in Administration CALVIN TRITT Heidelberg College Kent State University Mr. Calvin Tritt, assistant principal, constantly strives to create and improve an atmosphere that encourages learning. He also handles the bookstore as well as being in charge of the distribution of students ' text books. Mr. Tritt has been assistant principal at Firestone since the opening of the school in 1962. A shift of responsibilities has taken place in the administration of FHS. This year, Mr. Michael Barich is charged with the handling of all disciplinary and attendance problems that occur through- out the day. With the assistance of his secretary, Mrs. Joyce Ewell (pictured on page 23), Mr. Barich keeps the attend- ance procedures at Firestone running smoothly and efficiently. MICHAEL M. Counselors Extend Guiding Hand RUTH ARLINE COURTNEY Mount Union College Case Western Reserve University of Pittsburgh PHYLLIS JAY LERCH University of Akron Counseling is essential to the high school student. Miss Phyllis Lerch, Miss Ruth Courtney and Mr. Kay Fluke constitute the guidance team at Firestone. As the sophomores find themselves in the midst of new and strange surroundings, the counselors guide them to the proper selection of courses of study for their high school years. They help juniors to recognize the many oppor- tunities of the future. When seniors are faced with the task of selecting a college or profession, they, too, are aided by the counselors.
