The weekend got underway with the big parade on Thursday evening starting at Northminster Church and ending at the school. The band performed and the four Class floats were displayed. The bonfire followed the parade. Nancyis attendants were Laura Aka, Lori WiHiams and Lynn Baskerville. The Junior Class Float was chosen as winner In the com- petition and the weekend activ- ities were capped with the dance on Saturday night. 42 Carnival Btue skies, cool winds, and large crowds combined this year to yield a PTA carniva! that was sensational. lt a1! came off on September 28 with a lot of fun f. - for everyone there. t :T -j Crowds lined the breezeway e . at the school and kept the booths busyier than they have for quite a while. The whole event was exhilirating for everyone, except for Mimi Wenz, the annual Dunkinl Baby Doll. 43 Only a Dream The Sophomore Variety Show, entitled 'tOnIy a Dream't was pre- sented on October 24 8t 25 in the multipurpose building . After only two weeks of preparation the show, under the fine direction of Mrs. Pam Johnson, brought in a qu house both nights. Only a Dream was centered around a boy's tDave Hughest musical fantasies. Each era of music, from prehistoric t0 the future, was presented in his dream by a short skit. The weekend was brought to a chose with a cast party Satur- day night at the home of Dawn Archer. 44 . . i I. v. . , . , o 45 Fall Play The Fall Play, 'Dirty Work at the Crossroads , was pre- sented on Friday and Saturday Of november 15 and 16. It was a typical melodrama made all the better by the ex- cellent performance of Finney- towns actors. The play was en- joyed by all who were in at- tendance those nights . 47 Spring Play On March 14 and 15, the an- nual Spring Play took place at Finneytown. The event this year 'comprised of three one-act plays. The production drew a size- able crowd both nights. The show was marked by remarkably accu- rate type casting. Nancy Biederman stole the show both nights with her fea- tured tbut unsuccessfub suicide attempt, which was foi1ed by Bill Crosset. 48 Carousel April 24,25, and 26 were the dates of the musical season climax at Finneytown. Carouselll was one of the best musical pro- ductions known to Finneytown High School. All the faculty staff invohr ed with the production were impress- ed with the amount of talent evident from the beginning of the production. 1t was said by some that the show could have been doublecast adequately . Curtain nights were marked by favorable comments and well domes for all. Even though the attendance wasn't record-break- ing, the show was the most successful ever. Sadie Hawkins The Sadie Hawkins Dance was held on Saturday, April 5th from 8-12 p.m. , in the IVl.P. Budeing. The dance was pre- ceded by Sadie Hawkins Day, Friday the 4th, where students dressed like L'il Abner and friends. Those who attended danced to Blue Stone Ivory and even got a chance to try their hand at Square Dancing. The Reverend Hogshed Hawkins er. WhiteT performed marriage ceremonies : with signed licenses that ex- 5 pired at midnight. The theme was l'Could This Be Magic and the music was provided by Blue Stone Ivory . Rick Wray and Marty Silver were ruling King and Queen of the night. The stretch from 9:00 to 1:00 was heiped out with a buffet set up at the hote1. After-prom was at the Golden Skates Ice Skating Center. It was a busy Weekend for all, especially for those seniors who attended the all-night party at Kings Island the preceding night. 148 149 150 151 Graduation On June 2, the class of '75 gathered together for the last time as an official sanction to be sponsored by Finneytown High School. After this night, all the students garbed in blue robes were to be designated as alumni, and their last ties to the past 12 years of their lives were cut. The ceremonies were held in the gym for the third time in F.H.S. history with Dr. Steiden, lVIr. Hannum, Mr. Evans, Mr. Rotert, and Mr. Gruber officiat- ing . Jane Lanz was Valedictorian, and Dave Schilling and Dave Tiersch sharing the role of salu- tatorian. The ciass song was i'Youlil Never Waik Alone and was directed by Mr. Lasonczyk.
