Exploring various avenues of experience is the studentts duty to himself. He may be- come involved in an organization. In this manner, he develops vocational and long- lasting interests. Or, he may join a sports program. The competition, the satisfac- tion of participation, and the knowledge Obtained, all make the experience chal- lenging and worthwhile. Like the Wildcat that is traveling through this book, the Finneytown student has tra- veled through the 1967-1968 school year. He remembers the priceless times and wonderful friends. He recalls the valuable classroom learning, the helpful teachers, and the beneficial activities. The moment becomes tense in 3 Wrestling match as Mr. Bean urges his team on. The CL A A. Basketball team discusses its strategy.

But, when the student becomes unsure of his course and begins to stray from the path, he needs a person to help redirect his footsteps. This person is the teacher. The teacher is the guide to the student proceeding along the road of learning. Having traveled the same path himself, he aids the student through difficulties. By making suggestions, he helps the student with his decisions. The teacher attempts to steer the pupil towards a life of signifi- cance. But, most of all, he comprehends the sig- nificant steps taken forward during the year. The recollections of the yearis path- way and its opportunities become perma- nent parts of the studentls knowledge. The pupil will go forward with these past ex- periences to guide him. He will continue the path that his education has started for him. Hisjourney will be one of new dis- coveries, new ideas, and new awareness of the world. Thisjourney never ends.
