IL SPEAKS OUT Student Council Officers: First Row: Cathy Klein, Leeanne Teatsorth, Nancy Whitacre. Second Row: Monty Gillett, Ralph Berry, Byron Wilford. I call this meeting to order! President Ralph Berry says, and thus the battle of rhetoric begins. Every other Thursday, the 65 members convened to realize the purpose of Student Council — to promote the general welfare of the students and school spirit, and foster better communications between students, faculty, and administration. Student Council's primary source of income is the concession stand operated during the football season. Some of the activities they carried out include: Free Form Education Day, the homecoming game, election, and parade, and other festivities. Whatever the activity, it was thoroughly discussed before it was put into action. Under the guidance of Miss Heskett, all involved not only accom- plished many beneficial projects, but, also, learned a great deal about the art of rhetoric and of parliamentarian procedure. I think I'm getting the hang of this, laughs Jane Haas. Togetherness makes Student Council a little more interesting. We have the ultimate solution Bill Kuhlman deducts.
