During this school year several important changes have taken place in the administration department of Findlay High School. Beginning December lst, Mr. G. R. Constien, principal of FHS since 1936, was called to head a project for the study of school enrollment and population trends. Mr. A. L. Mattoon, dean of boys, was then made principal, and Mr. R. S. Miller, social problems teacher, became dean of boys. These men, along with the members of the board of education, Miss Zola Iacobs, Findlay school superintendent, and Miss Helen Iohnston, dean of girls, have worked to maintain and increase Find- lay's position as having one of the finest schools in the state of Ohio. These people have put the needs and problems of the students first in their minds and have always done everything possible to help any- one who needs them. The deans especially have been and are very skilled in helping new students to become acquainted with the school and its regula- tions and in assisting those of the school who have problems to find the best solution to them. The principal and superintendent work together to provide an excellent program of studies and rec- reation tor the students. The high level of scholar- ship, plus the numerous social activities which are available for all, make the school year a truly en- joyable one. Not only are the students of Findlay Senior High School prepared to meet the keen com- petition and life oi the world as far as jobs are con- cerned, but they are also prepared to be able to get along with those around them. These purposes are just as important in school as are the scholastic pur- poses. . and We, the class of 1954, Wish to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to these people for their patience and efforts. The Deans Principal A. L. Mattoon Miss Helen Iohnston Ralph S. Miller
