DEDIEATIUN Through the halls of Findlay High School echo the famous words from Lincoln's Gettysburg address. We here-highly resolve, that these dead shall not have died in vain, and that this government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth. During these past years of war, many fine boys, whom many of us knew and loved, gave their lives for the sake of democracy, for the four freedoms, for all of us. In order that these boys, who were so recently taken from us, may have a lasting memorial to their great sacrifice, the Trojan has been dedicated to the Gold Star Alumni. lt was not so long ago that they too walked through the halls of Findlay High, sat in classrooms, played in the gymnasium, participated in Chapels, partook of their favorite dish after school in their favorite store and did the very things that the students do today. W'hen War came and they were called upon to loin the services, they cheer- fully gave their last full measure of devotion. They were not regretful or angry, for they knew that the future of the world lay in their hands, and willing hands they Were. They fought hard and died hard to preserve such things as the school, the church and the home they had left forever. We cannot hope to repay them merely by writing down a few words of gratitude. We cannot hope to bring them back, but we can hope to preserve their fine spirit and devotion. I-lumbly, and sincerely, the l9-46 Trojan has been dedicated to these unsung heroes, the Gold Star Alumni. QW A .
