Vote For Onen Democracy must be experienced as well as studied. Some years ago the History Department introduced model elections. Timed to coincide with the state and national elections, they were carried out with the same procedure as is used in the adult elections, .using sample ballots. They not only give the students a chance to mark such a bal- lot but at the same time they serve as a measure of political opinion within the student body. Under the direction of the History Department the building was divided into wards and precincts approximating those of the city. Student boards ot election were set up with every polling place manned by student help. Tabu- lating the results was carried out in a manner similar to that officially used. HIRTY ONE
