S ENIOR CLASS HISTORY In Qeptember 19136 twenty four zombtes emerged from then' crypt to haunt F C H5 for four years The most sp1r1ted ones were glven the off1c1al responsxbthty of IT13.1llI81I'11l'lg peace tn the brrck mausoleum Those zombtes to hold offtce were Presldent Roger Ktrkwood Vtce Pl'6S1d8IlI Pat Macklm Secretary Deannc Messmore and Treasurer Sondra Atteberry The grave yard keepers that year were Mr Ktssack and Mr Bennett Then the process of revrval was started The revlval was so successful that some zom bros were put mto G A A F H A F.F A basketball baseball and track to work out thetr excess cold ness and sttffncss However 1n May 57 the mor ue attendants were so completely exhausted from the process of revtv 'al that they needed rest Th1s necessitated putttng all zombles 1nto cold storage C1 ypts unt11September '57 The crypts were opened agam September 57 and only twenty occup1ed slabs were to be found. Thost t adavers that were stolen were Nancy Crum Charlene DeW1tt and Don Freeman Upon closer mspectton there was dtscovered a new slab contalmng a thorou hlytrozen zomble by the name of Ralph Hannon The f1rst ones to be thawed out were agam glven Jobs as offtcers They were Sondra Atteberry P resrdent Judy Carson V1ce Prestdent Pat Macklm Secretary and J1m Chlttum Treasurer Mr Benn tt sttll held h1s pos1t1on as grave yard keeper w1th h1s new asststant MISS Beatue. Because tt was such a task to thaw out each member cold storage was decxded agamst at the end of thls ghastly term In the gloamtng the zombtes gradually started roammg back for a new year atF C.H.S 1n 58 Those that roamed back ftrst recetved offtces Roger Krrkwood Prestdent Freda Leeds Vtce Prest dent Deanne Messmore Secretary and ,Ttm Chtttum Treasurer Two new cool ghouls were added Mr Ward and Mr Gr1ff1th as advtsers Three zombtes got so thawed out over our new ohouls that they fell off thetr slabs and rolled out F C.H.S s door The st1ffs were Glorta Banks Earl Donaldson and Netta Woodworth One new zomble roamed from Moweaqua She was Charlene Stms Feeling restless these zombtes dug up a play called ABSOLUTELY MURDER whtch slayed everyone. Sttll ambtttous they had a cool banquet honortng the graduates who recelved therr slab dlplomas May came and summer was spent as the prev1ous one had been spent In September 58 the zombtes started thelr fmal year w1th new keepers Mr Eadte, and Mrs Sttrrett They worked at general thmgs baseball basketball track F.l-I A F.F A band GA A and some of them made chorus The new offlcers elected th1s year were Ralph Hannon Prestdent Clar ence Adams Vlce Prestdent Judy Carson Secretary Sondra Atteberry Treasurer On Apr1l3 they presented a play BROTHER GOOSE whtch was a great success As they fmally emerged from the crypt that had been the1r home for four years they floated through the graveyard chantmg We must bear the sc1rs of battle 1f we would wear the vlctor s crown. CLASS PROPHECY Remember the nrght that SONDRA ATTEBERRY Cooprlder and Mrckey Cooprrder won a tr1p to Hawau on Art St1nkletter s show PEOPLE AREN'T FUNNY' Shortly after th1s memorable event a letter was recerved at the Flndlay Hlgh School tellrng how much fun Sondra and Mrckey were havrng on the1r tr1p Sondra was so surprrsed at the number of old frrends she saw there As the sh1p came mto port the couple was met by aparr of nauves AVOCADO HOWELL and ORIENTAL I-IAYDEN who swam out to meet the sh1p and collected a few extra pennres to help make a down payment on the1r httle grass shack When the sh1p docked Sondra notrced a huge adverttsement featurrng two bronze bongo beaters ALOHA LEEDS and HONOLULU HANNON who were top bananas at the Prneapple Club Sondra proudly rnformed Mrckey that these men were former classmates of hers The newlyweds had arrrved Just rn ume for the Hula Fest1va1, at whrch II rs customary to choose a hula queen There were f1ve guls competmg for the trtle of Queen of the Hula Sondra at frrst drdn t recogmze the g1rls but later learned that they were her old frrends MANUNO LOA MESSMORE KILUA CARSON PAPAYA PATTY MACKLIN and MOLOKAII LEEDS all of whom were hula hurrrcanes One day whrle sarhng around the tsland for an ocean v1ew of the ma1nland the couplc drscovered that the te1ev1s1on show SEA HUNT was frlmrng an underwater sequence on How to Catch A Mermard The star of the show LLOYD BRIDGES BAKER along wrth h1s very capable camera techmcrans ROGER KIRKWOOD MIKE ATKINSON and JAMES CHITTUM was fxlmrng the actual capture of a beautrful mermald who appeared to be LINA MUSSON Sondra was so surpnsed that she almost fell overboard' Soon the couple docked at Bennett s Island named after one of Sondra s former teachers who was D1'1 C1Dal of a surf board schooL Sondra decrded that she would 'OSCE MR BENINETI whtle she was there. When she arr1ved at the school, she found Mr Bennett reprrmandmg GRASS SKIRTS OVERBECK for lett1ng her students drag race on the surf boards Later whtle Sondra was talkmg to Mr Bennett he tndrcated that rt m1ght be necessary to close the school because rt was becomrng too expensneto pay the1r w1dely known carpenter KIZ KISSACK, to put the sphnters back 1nto the surf boards He sard that the klds were really gtvmg h1m trouble by drag racrng so much and causrng excesslve wear and tear on the surfboards The couple dec1d1ng they would ltke to see more or Bennett's Island took a walk around the coastline They h1red a gurde by the name of O DELL who Sondra thought had a very umqne way of weartng h1s clothes He wore tan shoes w1th prnk shoelaces a polka dot vest w1th a purple hat band The gulde took the couple deep sea f1sh1ng ln a submarrne and to a drrve 11'l mov1e 1n a lunouslne. The next day back at Wa1krk1 Beach the couple came upon Dr SHEILA ENOCH whom Sondra knew very well Dr Enoch a Cape Canaveral screntrst who had spent several years of strenuous research work on monkeys and mrce, was takmg a much needed vacatron. As the couple contrnued the1r walk along the beach they came upon two seem1ngly restless natlves but actually they were Sondra s old school frrends ED IKEMIRE and CLARENCE ADAMS who were srck of f1sh and por and couldn t wart to get back to the states for a steak and shake. Dunng the1r stay the couple was 1nv1ted by one of Sondra s former schoolmates now the krng of Hawau HAL LOCKE and h1s campargn manager BOB WININGS to attend the annual luau The head p1g roaster at Ih1S event was LILI UKOLIN BAUER The luau was held on the lawn of the Royal Hawauan Hotel, whrch featured mghtly the muslc of HULUHANDS EADIE playrng h1s bamboo bassoon A carmval was held along w1th the luau and Sondra saw that her one t1me typrng teacher MISS BEATTIE was head barker at the Barkmg Sands Carnlval Saunterrng around the carruval the couple saw a slgn featurrng BOB BROOKS and GARTERS GRIFFITH who were mtroducmg the Can-Can to the Hawauans Anxrous to see the show Mlckey and Sondra found seats Just as Garters Gr1ff1th slrpped and fell on the stage A doctor was summoned and to Sondra's surpr1se her former P E teacher Mrs Strrrett answered the emergency call. Dr Stlrrett adnunlstered some Kool A1d and soon Garters was as good as new Later on tn one of the speclal attractlons Sondra saw SMALL EARS BRITTON, a famous authorrty on sports havrng a dxfflcult t1me tryrng to teach h1s school of porporses the frner pornts of Rrng Around The Rosle At me end of the1r VISII the newlyweds were ll'lVlI6d by NANCY MESSMORE, former school sec retary to dme at her prneapple plantauon Another guest of the evemng was BUG SPRAYER REICHERT local farm advtser, who had been htred by Nancy to Improve her prneapple crop Wh1le at drnner the couple met the Presrdent of the Dole Ptneapple Company LAWRENCE CAMFIELD who was the guest of honor After the dmner Sondra and MICKEY bade farewell to the1r frrends and to Hawau and as they boarded a Pan Amertcan Arr Lmer they were greeted at the door by avery pretty neat stewardess whom Sondra recogmzed as CHARLENE SIMS Just before the take off our newlyweds gave the beautr ful troplcal countrys1de a last wtstful look waved good bye to the1rfr1ends and shouted Aloha to all' . , . . . .
