Senior History On one fine September day in 1940 the Spaceship of '5Z stopped at Finchford and picked up Dale Ackerman, Delbert Ackerman, Jack Decker, Ethelyn Howard, Frances Hurn, Roger Masters, Shirley Michael, Njancy Nielson, Kennth Russell, Elda Sandholdt, Erwin Sherburne, Leon Smelser, LaVern Thurm, Orlow Webrand, Jr,, Robert Whiteside, Wendell Whiteside, Virginia Todd, Betty Myszka, Weston Thomas, and Marian Turner, Our pilot was Eileen Parker, During the second year our spaceship lightened somewhat, We lost eight and gained three, Arlene Baldwin, Leonard Bernends, Richard Schwab, making our total fifteen, Our pilot for the second flight was Miss Luse, We started our third year with the same total as we had the year before, but lost Delbert Ackerman, Jack Decker, Elda Sandholdt, Weston Thomas, Joining us was Arnold Henn, Virginia Henn, Neal Sells, Beverly Booher, Our pilot for the next two years was Miss Helen Loots, During our fourth lap we lost Richard Schwab, Erwin Sherburne, LaVern Thurm, Orlow Webrand, Jr, and Neal Sells, 'We did not pick up anyone, making our total ten, In our fifth year Alsie Brown took over the pilot job, We stopped long enough to pick up Cae Cuvelier, and Henry Miller, 'Beverly Booher, Arnold Henri and Virginia Henn, were not with us at the beginning of this year, Our total was nine, As we progressed along we finally came to our last lap in grade school, Our class now consists of ten, gaining Clair Bohan, Lloyd Phillips at the end of this year, Our teacher was Mr, Tuckerfand feature of the year was the boys' ability of getting sent out in the hall, We looked forward to our Freshxnan year with the idea of only having four subjects, We were a little scared at the thought of initiation, Our spaceship rested long enough to pick up Lois Strickland, Our class consisted of eight, We had a head pilot for our next three years, Harry Haven, Our co-pilots for this year were Bruce Tucker, June Danton, and John Dulin, During our tenth year Mrs, Nielson and Mr. Paul joined us as co-pilots, leaving off June Danton and Mr, Tucker, We gained Clair Bohanhand Junior Webrand, We stopped through the year of learning for our Junior class play, Our Gal Sal and our Junior-Senior Banquet, Joining us for our next two years was Mrs, Ridenour, Mrs, Lorenzenand Mr, Miller were co-pilots this year also, At long last we have reached the end of our trip in our Spaceship of '52 , We have nine in our class and they are as follows: Clair Bohan, Cae Cuvelier, Richard Folkers, Orlow Webrand, Jr,, Lois Strickland, Frances Hurn, Etheyln Howard, Shirley Michael, and Betty Myszka, Shirley, Frances, Ethelyn, and Betty were the only ones to start and complete this long journey in Finchford of the Class of '5Z , Mr, Staebell and Mrs, Irwin took over the duties of Mrs, Lorenzen and Mr, Miller, Our highlights were that eight of the nine Seniors were on the first team in basketball for the last two years, We are- looking forward to our class play Warning Wings and our Junior-Senior Banquet, As we close this year we wish to thank all our pilots for helping us along the way and for doing their best to start us on our way to success,

Last Will and Testament of The Class of '52 We, the Senior Class of 1952. of the Finchford High School, County of Black Hawk, State of Iowa, being of supposedly sound minds, superior intel- ligence, sound judgrnent, and pleasing disposition, hereby published and declare this our last will and testament, Lois Strickland wills her aspirins to Shirley Porath because it seems that Shirley can't afford them, Cae Cuvelier wills her pivot position to any girl who can remember the plays as well as Cae did, Ethelyn Howard wills her shooting ability to Lyn Cuvelier providing she makes more than twenty points per game, Frances Hum wills leadership ability to Jo Ann Saathoff who seems so quiet, Betty Myszka wills her guarding ability to Delores Gerholdt providing she doesn't fall down all the tirne, Shirley Michael wills the hard work on the annual to Sherry Sue because we know she likes to work so well, Dick Folkers wills his height to Jim Finger providing he plays pivot and does as good a job as Dick did. Orlow wills his mixture of perfumes to Mr. Staebell providing he can use it and still keep his friends. Clair Bohan wills his driving ability to anyone who is willing to take it, As a class, we will our ability to stick up for one another through thick and thin to all the classes, In witness wereof, we have subscribed our names and affixed our seal this twentieth day of May in the year of one thousand nine hundred and fifty- two.
