Sophomore I-hstory 4-5 Pres Thurman Spears, Pres Larry Honwcod Sec frees Elaine Voils On September 3, 1951, eight scared, but happy, Freshmen walked up the stairs at Fillmore Community High School They were the following Elaine Volls, Larry Honwood, Thurman Spears, John Logan, Richard Baker, Robert Worth, Ronald Donaldson, and Larry Keyes The class officers were Larry Hopwood, Elaine Voils and Robert worth Elaine Voile was our queen candidate and her escort was Ronald Donaldson We gave the Sophomores a return party in the spring We had four boys on the basketball team At the end of the first semester Larry Keyes moved to Indiana On September l 1952, we felt surer of ourselves as we began our second year of high school we were a smaller class this year, but we had gust as much fun There were two boys who didn't return Ronald Donaldson went to school at Vandalia and Robert Worth moved to Sprlngfield That left only five of us At the end of the first semester, John Logan moved to Donnellson H now attends school at Panama We took part in more of the school activities this year We gave the Freshmen their initiation party on October lOth It was a very successful party for everyone joined in the fun. Our queen candidate, Elaine Voils, was elected queen Her escort was Larry Hopwood Elaine Voils was also elected as one of the cheerleaders We had two boys, Larry Hopwood and Thurman Spears, on the basketball team On November 12th Miss Prange took the general business class to Mulberry Grove to visit the bank Mr Lindley McCollum showed and explained to us in a very interesting and helpful manner the things that we should know about banking We have had a successful Sophomore year and we are looking forward to our Junior year We hope that we will have a larger enrollment in our class by Elaine Volls and Thurman Spears '44-3 s'U nm.. l' 0 5 'V' ,Q 'K l -,Q I v, me T L 'I F -84' ' J vw W I 1' .1 If l'l , I U , A , ,Q 2 A' .
