With these terms in mind, the editors, proofreaders, and business manager publish the liilze Hi-Zetie monthly. hlartha Sue Pearson, Editor-ineChief, and Carolyn Ed mundson, Assistant Editor, were responsible for the over- all production of the paper. Dinah Daniel, lfaye -lenltins, Dwight Hudson, Dot Vick, Kitty XVard, Louise Wfiggins, Alvin Tyndall, and Patsy Seburn rendered invaluable serv- ices in their capacity as senior editors, however, the suc- cessful production of any paper would not be complete without the tireless efforts of the reporting staff. The Pike Hi-Zette tries to present an accurate record of each school month, while also recognizing students' achieve- ments. The annual April literary edition, consisting of the students' best short stories, poems, and essays, attempts to make its readers aware of the fact that they have an active part in the school newspaper. nm zelps lrriglzterz the Siuclent Council partir for 11rzderprivileged ellildrerz. The Student Council is a service organization composed ol student representatiyes with hlr. Thomas Stott, adviser. During foothall season, the Council inaugurated its first pnwject-worlting in the concession stands to raise money needed for this years activities. The outstanding duty of the Council was planning a successful Homecoming. They selected sponsors, planned the parade, the half-time show. and an after the game dance at the Beereation Center. Next came the annual Sadie llawltins Festivities, with Cindy Carson and Ceorge -Ienliins winning the traditional prizes for the hest dressed depicting Dogpatch style. Other functions in which the Student Council played starring roles during the year were the Christmas party for ten children, assisting with the March of Dimes, spon- soring the annual Siudent-Faculty basketball game, and directing the election of officers for the ensuing year.
