VVith Mrs. Betty Abernathy, Mrs. Ella Beaman, and Mrs. Nell lligh as advisers, the Inernbers have enjoyed several outstanding programs this year. One interesting program was a tour of the bacteriof logical laboratories at the Eastern Carolina Sanitorium. This particular program stands out, for during this tour each memberls blood was typed. Moody, Howard, were a visit to a fallout shelter, a lecture on Chemical Development of Life by Dr. Peggy Newton from the Atlantic Christian College Science Department, and a tour of the Vvilson Industrial Center-here every lab was visited-from labs for the study ol' radio to those for repairing car bralxcs. hlueh interest in scientific development and oppor- tunities was created and enjoyed by the thirty-three meme bers of this club. Each receives instruc- tion that is directly related to his job. Importance is placed upon personality development, employeeeemployer relations, job interviews, qualifications employers look for, the various taxes, and social security. Occupations represented by the D.O. students are such trades as radio technician, auto parts clerk, building maintenance, sign painter, cabinetmaker, dry cleaner, Hr. The Diversified Occupations club has undertaken projects, one being the concessions at football games.
