Their next contest was with Raleigh who was considered a prime contender for the conference championship. It was a hard-fought game all the way, and the Cycs went into the last quarter trailing 7-6. Then with hut three minutes left to play, the Cyclones, in an outstanding display of teamwork and courage, scored on a pass from Thompson to Kenneth Boykin and defeated the Caps 12-7. The following week, the team journeyed to Kinston where they overwhelmed the non-conference Red Devils Zl-0.

This cheer, along with dozens ol' others, helped build the enthusiasm and spirit that gave, our team such a good record this year. Giving their all at the pep rallies and games, the cheer- leaders were admired hy everyone. The little mascot. Alice Flowers, was adored by ull, especially the cheerleaders.
