The l5.'li.rX. club is macle up of juniors and seniors who wish to become teachers. The purpose of the club is to learn the requirements ancl opportunities of teachers. Programs and speakers show the importance of special training, character, personality, and methods of gootl teachers. Mrs. Ethel Crawley and Miss Doris ilihorne are the atlviscrs of the club. Ordering college catalogues, tlcco- rating a llomecoming float, assisting with College Day. boosting the teachers' morale. antl hai ing a spring banquet highlight the activities of the year. The PTA. officers are L. Miles, treasurer: C. Barker, secretary, M. Graves, president, Mrs. Crawley, adviser, and C. Edmuntlson, vicefpresiclent, a junior who will move up to the presiclency next year, accortling to the clubs constitution. 'lihe teaching profession comes in for its share of interest and influence when surveys are matle of vocational preferences. Every year at Christmas each teacher re- ceives some little token from the F.T.A. to bring cheer to them on the last clay before the holidays. Activity and growth seemed to be the major lieatures ol' the l7uture Business Leaders this year. Under the competent leadership ol' hlrs. -lean llarriss, the l7.l3.l,.rX., ol' over one hundred and thirty members, progressed more in growth than any other chapter in the district. l7.ll.l-.1X. chapters were founded at Saratoga, lllack Creek, and Atlantic Christian College by the liike Chapter. ln August, the new members were inducted and the newly elected ol'l'ieers were installed during a banquet at l5arker's. illhe Club sponsored several projects during the year. illhe First day, a MXAfClCOIHC'fO'NCXV'SfLlLlCHiSH campaign began the yearls activities. .Xt Christmas, the club helped a needy family. Members issued a supplement to last years student directory lor the benefit ol' sophomores and new students. E.B.L.A. members enjoyed the annual induction banquet at Parkers Officers installed were: jerry Owens, President: .lo Benton, l'ice-Presidmztg Eleanor Temple, Secremryg Alice Rodgers, T1'6HS1ll'91'Q Betty Jean Lucas, Reporterg Edna Earle Patterson and lane Sawrey. Co-Historizuzs. 'llhe monthly meetings in the Round Room brought many good speakers. Talks on such subjects as Business in Everyday Lite and Public Speaking continued to make the club a success. ln March, the members attended the threeeday F.B.I..fX. convention in Durham, where they entered dililierent contests to test their business skills. ln meeting the budget goal, the members sponsored a house' to-house variety sale. February brought the traditional Valentine Dance at the hloose llall. Elhc Club entertained over a hundred members and vuests. D The E.B.L.A. has many aims for developing the business lead- ers of tomorrow. Each member tries to keep the club motto: Service . . .
