The only qualification for being a member is to be currently enrolled in either the first or second year French classes. The officers, B. Lee, President, B. Baines, ViceePresidentg S. Saleeby, Secretary, C. Gregg, Treasurer, and B. Timberlake, Program Chairman, met at the first of the year to plan the year's agenda. W7ith the capable guidance of hlrs. George VVarren and bliss 'Iewel Gay, faculty advisers, the club enjoyed a successful year. Their first money-making project was the making and selling B' I-CC Selig lmmpoms to mise funds for me Club. of blue and gold pompoms. The climax Z , Wm ,I Q of the evening occurred when a former French student at East 7 , 3 Carolina Gollege came in and spoke French to them. ? .4 The members of the French Club feel that with the world situation as it is today, language barriers need to be torn down more than ever. They enjoy learning about the French people because in learning about them, they can further understand them, and in understanding them, can do their share toward bringing about world peace.
