- --5. '--1+ For more than a decade, Mrs. Rosa R. Bran- don has rendered distinguished service as our school secretary. She has handled our finances, kept our records, filed our transcripts, and measured us for caps and gowns. She has been our telephone operator, hospitality chairman, accountant, ticket seller, lost-and-found depart- ment, mathematician, typist, mail clerk, and reliable source of information. In short, she has been our competent Mrs. jack-of-al1- Trades. But to the students, numbering in the thou- sands, whose lives Mrs. Brandon has touched, she has been far more than an efficient secre- tary. She has been a true friend. Mrs. Brandon is ever gracious, amiable, and warm-hearted. Whenever there is a problem to be solved, she is willing to help find the answer. She is never too busy to rejoice in our happiness, listen to our troubles, offer sound advice and encouragement, lend a helping hand, and share with us the warmth of her cheerful personality and admirable character. At athletic games she is an enthusiastic booster. At other school events, she is one of the guiding hands behind the scenes that helps make things run smoothly. At all times, she is loyal to Pike Senior High School and supports the noblest purposes that an educational pro- gram may Offer. So, in deep appreciation for the countless services she renders day by day, and in recog- nition of our love and respect for her, we dedicate this second edition of the ACCOLADE to her-MRS. ROSA R.
