This year the band played at the band days of Duke Universi- ty and the University of Virginia. Mr. Zimmerman rehearses in prep- aration for the Spring Concert. The Fieldale High School Band provides musical instruction and rec- reation for its members, and progresses under the able direction of Mr. Zimmerman. Through such activities as the Band Festival and All-State Band, participants have the opportunity to bring recognition to our school and meet youth from all parts of Virginia who are interested in music. With Drum major, Gary Critz, the majorettes, Regina Baker, Joretta Nester, Irma Sapp, Brenda Merriman, and Anita Baker lead our band in all parades. Q if I

MUSIC STUDY CLUB The Music Study Club consists of those students who are interested in music. Some of the aims of the Club are to help sponsor a music production, to promote an appreciation of fine music, to study the lives of well-known composers, and to study the history of music. FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA The Future Teachers of America con- sists of those boys and girls in our student body who are interested in becoming teach- ers after graduation. The Club endeavors to develop the beginnings of professional attitudes, to cultivate qualities of leader- ship, character, and scholarship among students, to study the lives of great teach- ers, and to render service to the school and the community.
