We feel that she has been a source of guidance and in- spiration, and We know her efforts Will leave a good mark on our lives in the years to come. To her we give a large measure of our admiration and gratefully acknowledge that her contributions to our school life have been of greatest value. DEDICAT ON And... . . . To Mr. Charles Myers, a man with a keen sense of humor and one who never passes another without a friendly greeting of some kind, whether it be a Good Morn- ing or some bit of foolishness. He has tirelessly given of his time, enthusiasm, and skill in coaching our Blue Devils. To you, Mr. Myers, or Shag, as he is popularly called, we simply say Thanks for the influence of your personality on us and others here at Fieldale High.

A message from our principal, Mr. Oren R. Counts, B.S., M.A. Appalachian State Teachers College As the years go by, these pages will offer to more of you a glimpse into what will then be a too-rapidly receding period of carefree enjoyment, the time of your life, your high school days. When you have forgotten the names of some of your classmates, and when life has offered you a portion of its rebuffs and rewards, it is my hope that some of you will remember that some of us endeavored to teach you to think for yourselves, to depend upon your own efforts, and to accept your individual responsibility in our school com- munity. It is my sincere hope that you can and will carry a goodly portion of this same zest for living and sense of duty into the years ahead, the years when you will be looking at these pages. GFMR. l8l
