The Teen-age Safety Club of Field Kindley High School was organized in November of 1958 with Mr. Sheffler as its sponsor. The officers are Fred Smoot, President, Kenneth Casida, Vice-President, Kay Casida, Secretary -Treasurer. The club's purpose is to promote safety among the teen-agers and adults. Some of the projects which they undertook were helping in the safety check lanes and sponsoring an assembly of safe driving. The Regional Safety Conference was held in Coffeyville and the club made a trip to the Topeka Safety Conference. Although this is the Safety Club's second year, it was found to be very worth-while. C AMPUS WHEEL S 'I' EVE C LARK Football, Basketball, Annual Editor. ll' ' 1, ga it it 4 rr . 35. , r i , lj ly , r The Girls' Athletic Association 'is an organization whose objective is to promote good sportsmanship, fellowship, and activity. The members participate in three intramural sports--basketball, volleyball, and bowling. From the girls who articipate in intramural basketball Miss Keller, sponsor and coach, chooses girls for tEhe teams that play in the City League basketball games. Officers for the organization this year are as follows: Madelyn Crawford, president, Judy Baber, vice-president, Llda Rae Leming, secretary-treasurer, Phyllis Culver, point keeper, and Karen Gump, scrapbook keeper. There is a championship team from each intramural sport and also one from the City League basketball. Each member of these teams receives a medal. ROW ONE: Davidson, Scott, Johnson C. , Chronister, Meredith, Harvey, Perry I. , Gump, Hunt, Brogan. ROW TWO: Gail Zeigler, Tony Kirk, Elbert Fields, Don Clayton, Tim Harris, Morgan Starrett, Billy Waltrip, John Van Winkle. ROW THREE: Lonnie Erwin, Jim Lewis, Tom Lovelle, Bob Templer, Jim Davis, Chuck Madron, Jim Bever, Mr. Harris. ROW FOUR: Steve Smith, Leonard Kizzire, Cliff Reeves, Ralph Holliday, David Robison. This year twenty-two members of F. F. A. attended the National F. F. A. conven- tion at Kansas City. The Coffeyville members also acted as host chapter for the South- east Kansas F. F. A. Meat Judging School and Contest, and attended Southeast Kansas F. F. A. Leadership School at Chanute. There were thirteen F. F. A. boys exhibiting a total of 27 head of livestock at the Interstate Fair and Rodeo this year. Amon those who placed in jud in were: Clif- ford Reeves-Znd place reserve champion Siropshire fat la mb, DavidgRoiison-Champ Landroce fat barrow, Ralph I-lolidaty-champ Berkshire male, Jim Lewis-3rd place Berk- shire Gilt, 3rd place Hereford Hei er, Steve Smith-2nd place Berkshire Gilt, Jim Bever champ Shorthorn fat steer, Sth place Hereford fat steer, Grady Young'-cha mp Brown Swiss female of entire show, Tim Harris-Reserve Champion Mantdole ewe, and first place aged Montdole ewe, and Bob Templer-9th place Angus fat steer. Present officers are Ralph Holiday, president, David Robison, vice-president, Jim Bever, treasurer, Bob Templer, reporter, Dana Collins, secretary, and Clifford Reeves, sentinel.
