ROBED CHCIR The Robed Choir, under the direction of Philip Crow, enjoyed a busy year beginning with the first performance at the Thanksgiving assembly and up to the including the final spring concerts. Some of the special appearances made included pro- grams forthe Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs, the Jr. Chamber of Commerce, and other local organizations, plus par- ticipation in the annual spring city-wide music festival, THE THIRD HOUR CHOIR fr Harvey Lewis Director and the S.E.K. festival in Pittsburg. Charlie Thurston held the position of President along with other officers - Vice-President, Steve Crow, and Secretary, Elizabeth Moberly. The climax of the year came when the choir was featured in the eighth annual Kindley Kavalkade.

The two beginning choirs are not performing groups, their purpose is to develop the voice and are stepping stones tor the other organizations. Any student was eligible to ioin third and fourth hour choirs, while robed choir and the Madrigalians were selective organizations. The Madrigals, derived their name from the popular music ot the Toth century ot the European courts. This group, however, also sings tollg songs and sacred music. The ,Aadrigalians are a select group at Juniors and Seniors thattorm an a cappell organization. They have appeared in the civic and high school Christmas pro- gram, Kavalkade, in the Easter Assembly and for various civic clubs.
