League with true tornado velocity to their third championship in six years. The gridsters got off to a slow start as they dropped the ripening encounter to a strong Ark City team. .Z-I-0. liven though the Javatowners penetrated deep into Columbus territory, the old jinx held and the next game ended in a scoreless draw. They then forced the Parsons Vikings down with a I9-0 defeat. The follow- ing week the Colleyville team journeyed to lar- oll lft. Scott to come from behind and win I8-7. The Bartlesville XVildcats and Chanute Comets became victims ol the Tornado on- slaught in games in which the scores stood 17-7 and IX-7. respectively. A decisive 16-7 victory over the favored Pittsburg Dragons put Colleyville on top. The club then drubbed the Iola Mustangs. 39-0, and were ready lor the championship battle with their ancient rivals. Independence. The bang- tip hall game. which was the best the Bulldogs had played all year. terminated in a I-I-I4 tie. However. this was all that was necessary for the Kindley crew to claim the S.E.K. League championship. The team elected Dick Andrews and Hub Nieman co-captains. Clarke Bumgarner. Don Lee. Bob Nieman. Paul Crandall. Charles I.ang- don and Dick Andrews were named on the S.I2.K. squad. S.E.K. Standing XV. I.. T. Colleyville 5 O 2 Columbus 5 l l Pittsburg 5 Z 0 Independence 4 2 I Chanute -1- 5 O lit.
