G. A. A. Provides Broaol Recreational Pro- gram tor Girl Athletes . The Girls' Athletic Association gives each girl of the school a chance to play and earn local and state awards without the requirement of interscholastic competition. Outstanding events of the year were the Pittsburg and Lawrence play days. a tea given in honor of the in- coming sophomores, and the sponsoring of the field day for the grade schools. The organization was sponsored this year by Miss Mary Virginia Smith and the following student officers: Marjorie McGrew. president: Elinor Kirby, vice-president: Eloise Black. secretary: Jean Searcy. treasurer: Betty Burton. point system manager: Frona Smith, volleyball manager: Dorothy Newberry, tennis manager: Evelyn Livingston, ping pong manager: Bette Scott. outdoor minor sports manager. Other organized activities sponsored by the G. A.A. are swimming, horseshoes, and archery. A large per cent of the fifty active members of tht G. A. A. received awards this year. Kinclley s Little Symphony Heard ln Four Enioyalole Concerts Appearance by the Field Kindley Orchestra this year included one on a Parent Teacher Association program a href conctrt for the State Teachers Convention a forty fixe minute radio broadcast and a public concert during Music XVeek The orchestra is made up of eighty fue students under the direction of C J McKee ' I Il ' II
