Leslie Thomure and Richard Cook promenade. Faculty and student officers greet guests. The members of the junior and senior classes of FSHS and their guests spent an enchanting evening at the Bali Hai prom on Saturday, October 2, 1963. The receiving line, which included the principal and superintendent and their wives, the president of the Board of Education, the junior and senior class presidents; and the class sponsors greeted the couples as they arrived. The theme of the prom was taken from the Broadway musical, South Pacific. This was the first prom to be held in -the new Ralph B. Tynes Gymnasium. Parents and teachers took part too.

Homecoming Queen Queen's Court—Scotty Kimberlin, Morceen Hill, Danny Riefsteck, Lynn Rudisaile, Kenny Blucker, Glenda Johnson, Jack Lovelace, Sheryl Scott, Paul Roth, Retiring Queen Sheryl Abernathy, Larry Frazier, Gayle Callahan, Wayne Renfro, John Summers, Feme Linde, George Gresham, Pattie Tynes, John Shoush, Linda Kloth, Nick Borusiewich, Sharon Glasgow, Ron Pope, Sue Lucas. Candidates and escorts proceed to the dance floor. The Fifth Annual Homecoming of Festus Senior High, held October 2, 1964 came to a climax as Gayle Callahan, escorted by Paul Roth, was crowned homecoming queen. Sherry Abernathy, the retiring queen, was escorted by Wayne Renfro as she relinquished her crown to Gayle. The homecoming activities included a chili supper served by the Senior Mother's Club, a bonfire and snake dance, the game with Herculaneum, and the dance. Music for the dance was provided by Vern Penning's Band. The crowning took place in a special ceremony during the dance. Queen 9

Reflected Ingenuity The Junior mothers did their shore to moke the prom a success. The workers were: Mrs. Pauline Mayberry, Mrs. Bertha Madison, Mrs. Cora Carrow, Mrs. Wilma Westbrook, Mrs. Nettie Lovelace, Mrs. Sophie Vest, Mrs. Winnifred Gresham, Mrs. Lucille Ladd, Mrs. Clara Wegmann, Mrs. Sarah Funk, and Mrs. Bette White. Refreshment table was the main attraction . Servers were: Linda Knobloch, Susan Wiese, Edwina Wright, Patty Johnston, and Susan Carrow, Sophomores, and Carol Madison, a Junior. Vernon Penning's Band provided the music.
