STUDENT COUNCIL THEME FOR YEAR Festus Students Vote In Mock National Election. In 1952 a committee was formed at Festus High School to investigate the pros and cons of a high school student council. In 1953, a favorable report having been received from the committee, the first student council at Festus High was organized. In this, its eighth year at F.H.S., the student council has become immensely improved through the experiences and opportunities which its members have received. This year’s council sponsored the student assemblies and rhe student council movies. The proceeds from these events were used to form the student council scholarship which is given annually to a deserving F.H.S. senior. The various committees of the student council tend to make life and studying at Festus High School more pleasant activities.
